"Quirky hotel with an interesting story in the centre of Alnwick.
The staff are all lovely and make the customer feel very welcome. Check-in and out is straightforward.
The Harry Potter themed rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Super clean bathroom with a great shower and nice toiletries.
Great breakfast including full English or continental options.
No parking facilities at the hotel but plenty of free 24hrs public car parks within a few minutes’ walk.
Would highly recommend!"
"Nice clean room and very comfy bed. Had a skylight rather than a window so no view but great black-out blind.
Shame about the miniature sink though, bad design!
Nice to have a continental brekkie included.
Very convenient for the station and town. Do try Coulls fish'n'chips, delicious, thanks for recommendation."
"The location was great, facing towards the city centre while the river is out the back. Breakfasts were delicious with various selections as were the dinners. We went to their cozy bar every evening before dinner. Mostly, I enjoyed the old world atmosphere, especially the lovely sitting room. The staff was very professional yet very friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and sizable. Loved the place!"
"A lovely stay at this hotel. Highlights were the staff and the breakfast service (charming and old school). The room was decent, though parts of the hotel looks slightly worn (the stairwells), but nothing a lick of paint would not fix; would stay again. The grounds looked impressive."
"Excellent stay overall. Our courtyard room was small but had everything we needed. The spa was a standout - loved the outdoor heated pool and sauna. Dinner at the bistro was excellent as was breakfast. It is expensive but worth it for a night or two getaway"
"Mum and I had a lovely 2 night stay at the Bailiffgate hotel. The hotel was beautifully appointed and clean. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was really good and the staff attentive. Our twin room was clean and perfect for a 2 night stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel."
"This accommodation is very well located in the Kelso town square and within easy walking distance to pubs, cafes and restaurants. The bakery to the left of the front door is outstanding for home cooked morning rolls and beautiful cakes.
Apartment 1 is spacious, clean and has everything you need despite the furnishings being a bit dated. Note this accommodation may not be suitable for those with mobility issues due to the stairs to all rooms. This is a great base for trips to Lindisfarne,Bamburgh castle(Last Kingdom) and abbeys in Melrose, Jedburgh and Kelso itself. Cute shops in Kelso as well."
