Cozy Waterfront Cabin, Central Kenai - Alaskan Sunset Cabins: 'Kalgin'
This cabin sits on the bluff above the beach facing the salmon-rich waters of the Cook Inlet to the west, providing perfect views of the sunset from inside the house or the patio! Centrally located in the Kenai, you will be 20 min from Soldotna, 1hrs from Homer, 2hrs from Seward, and 3hrs from Anchorage.
The 'Kalgin' cabin is the one of 7 private cabins at the Alaskan Sunset Cabins. We have a large, quiet and quaint property - perfect for a single or multi-family stay on the Kenai. Downstairs is a combined with kitchen and living room, connected to a queen bedroom, and a private bathroom. The loft upstairs has two twin beds, and the deck patio is perfect for sunny afternoon and watching the sunset in the evening.
The cabin is in a quiet rural community on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The most noise you will hear is the soft crashing of waves on the beach at high tide, or the occasional sound of a bald eagle stopping by on the bluff.

We enjoyed our stay so much. Host Randy very knowledgeable about the area. We wish we had spent more time chilling in the room & porch. Very peaceful. Highly recommend.
All was just fine EXXXXCEPT the Wi-Fi didn’t work properly.
In order to call, text, or do anything online you had to go outside a little ways.
Wasn’t the end of the world, but made things a little difficult to coordinate with people. No Wi-Fi for the kids, END OF THE WORLD😂
All in all nice,& quiet
Alaska Sunset Cabins embody the aloha spirit. Beautiful property with indescribable views of the Cook Inlet. Our hosts were kind, welcoming, and informative. We had a very hard time leaving and plan to come back as soon as possible!
Communication prior to arrival was quick and efficient. Directions were provided well. Owner greeted us at check in. The location of the cabin is nice. Good ocean view. It is quite a walk down to the actual beach though. The cabin was fine for what we needed, a place to sleep after exploring Homer and The Kenai peninsula. It had the very bare necessities ( ie bring anything you’d need). The windows do not open , except in the loft and the bathroom. The cabin had a very odd smell which was unpleasant and did not go away during our stay. You are provided with only 4 of everything ( towels, washcloths, coffee filters, coffee cups, etc). No extras. Over all- this place was adequate but nothing extra special but the view. It was clean, safe and had a great view. Owner seemed fine- very little interaction with him.
The property was just as described. Clean, comfortable and a beautiful view. We enjoyed our time in the area and had a great day of fishing and bear watching with Matt and Tracy from Talon Air.
