There are hampers full of dirty towels in the corridors that are always there and never removed. The young female receptionist tried to charge me for a superior room when I had been given an old standard room. Don’t stay here!

The room was outdated, small and overlooked the busy main road. One young receptionist tried to charge me an additional amount of 20 Euros the next morning, saying I had been given a room upgrade. The hallways are unrenovated and filled with containers of dirty, smelly towels as well.

I was surprised at how nice it was!
I was surprised at how nice it was! The check in was swift, breakfast was very delicious (and I lingered here), access to the centre of town and the station was good. The info described for my single room was as a shared bathroom, but actually there was a shower in my room and only the toilet was shared - and I never saw another person use it either.

We were on a train to Strasbourg, France when we were notified of a French rail strike. We had to disembark the train in Karlsruhe as there was no service to France. We decided to make the best of the detour and stay in Karlsruhe. We were able to book this hotel within walking distance to the Hauptbahnhof for a great price. The hotel is a little older but it was clean, staff was friendly, and in safe neighborhood. We never planned on visiting Karlsruhe but loved it and would go back in a heartbeat and stay here again. The only downside was the bathroom, with the toilet, shower and two sinks crammed in a very small space. Had to get creative to use the toilet but, that may just have been that room. Otherwise, great place to stay!

CHEAP but functional old hotel.
Very basic old style hotel not far from station. In desperate need of refurbishment, however everything works, even if it is old! No curtains, but had a roller shutter on the outside! Functional and CHEAP. Don’t expect more than you are paying for!

Our room, 441, had a large balcony overlooking what must be the busiest crossroads in Karlsruhe with trams going in all directions - the noise level was unbelievable. The room was a good size and the bed large & very comfortable. The bathroom was very scruffy with a shower curtain. The loo was dirty and one of the bed lights didn't work. The hotel is very tired from the dirty scruffy carpet in the entrance to the rickety lift. It was "cheap and cheerful".

Hotel was a was away from the main train/bus station. Kind of awkward dragging luggage to. Older style elevator. Maximum of 2 people and you have to open a door before getting through the elevator doors. Again difficult with alot of luggage. I was very grateful for the fan in the room. Beds were not very comfortable. Was able to sleep but they are a little hard. Bathroom and shower were small. Overall it is an ok hotel.

Old building with old elevator. Room was small but clean. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately the parking lot was full and I was told to drive around to find a parking space which took me about 30 minutes. I expected better than that.

The weather was so hot and the hotel didn’t have Airconditioner.The room was so tiny.They gave me the room on the 7th floor and the elevator stops on the sixth floor and I had to use stairs to go seventh floor.With the suitcase and carrion is hard to use stairs.When I went to room,I saw the room doesn’t have bathroom and shower. When I ask the receptionist,she said we have three options for our rooms.When I made a reservation I didn’t see option for bathroom and etc. I didn’t pay attention to their confirmation .Yes on the confirmation they explained my room don’t have any of them .Because I didn’t have experience in my life to go some room without bath and restroom. The room was so hot and when I opened the window the train noise was so bad and I felt I am sleeping on the railroad. I was happy the room had door to be safe in the room.

Nice staff, overpriced hotel that is quite outdated and need to be refreshed. noise insulation is not good Rooms are really really basic for 95€/night

First night I slept near the elevator Motor block on 7th floor, which kept me awake until 00h30 and woke me up at 6am. After complaining, they moved me to another room on the second night which was much better. On first night also there was no soap in the communal showers.

The room and hotel overall was good. The service at the front desk was quite poor. The lady who attended us appeared not to understand my questions on purpose, even with my speaking three different languages with her. She looked not to be in the mood to attend customers

My one night experience was disappointing. I could not contact the reception as there was no extension given to contact the reception in any case. The bulb for one of the lamps was not working. Room carpet had stains. The bathroom was not satisfactory at all. The cleanliness should have been worked upon. My overall experience was not good. Fortunately, I had only one night stay otherwise it would have been difficult if my stay had been any longer.

I did not like it. Strange smell in the lobby and hallways. Room clean but old fashioned, creepy. Leaving in the morning I saw the breakfast room, looked very nice in contrast, still I skipped it. McD in the nearby station was safer. The staff at the hotel was very polite.

Reasonable hotel in easy walking distance of the main station. Room quite comfortable. Bathroom appeared shabby and dirty at first sight but that was mainly due to peeling of some paint on tiling. The room and bathroom were overall clean. Maintenance problem (lamp bulb) was fixed promptly. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced.

Dilapidated rooms the furniture of which hasn't been updated since the fifties. The shower had no water pressure whatsoever. Overall a lousy choice. And overpriced!

Don't trust the photos.
When we arrived, they wanted to put us in a single room, even if we reserved a double room and were obviously two people. The single room was not more than 7m2 and had one single bed. After a long waiting, we were rerouted to an apartment, which was ok, but there was no hotel service (no cleaning at all for the 3 nights we were there). They forgot they gave us the apartment, so the next night, we woke up with strange people in our bedroom who had keys and the impression that they are accomodated there. The pictures on the website do not match at all the hotel, they are overly photoshopped.

Its a little loud at night as you are on the main road next to the tramline. However with the windows closed this is not noticeable. Its a 2* hotel and you get a 2* hotel. Its staff spoke English and German. There was an event where my hotel room lock had broken and i was locked inside. This was quickly resolved however the staff mentioned to me this happened once before. No safe in the room either. Effectively, if you are looking for a few nights in Germany for the night life and don't have any high value personal items. This is the perfect hotel for that.

the room we got can not be seen on any picture at the website; room on the 7th floor, elevator stops at 6. 7 th floor can only be reached by stairs. temperature was realy high while heater was not on. Only positive point was breakfast. this was realy oke.

Worse night ever
We've booked an apartment with 3 beds for one night . However when we've arrived to the hotel later in the evening (with 2 small children), the lady at the reception said that she gave the apartment to someone else over the phone already and she doesn't care that we were first and already paid through Expedia. As an alternative, she offered us a very basic double room, so all of us had to sleep in one bed (and we had no choice as it was very late already)! Obviously, the room price was twice lower then we've paid through Expedia. The receptionist also refused to send us confirmation that we were given a double room instead of the apartment as well as refused to refund us the difference in price. The room itself was very old (well, didn't have high expectations because of the price), it was melting hot and when we've opened the window it was impossible to sleep because of the noice (road works). The shower curtain was old and dirty, the shower itself was not in a good shape as well.

Economic and convenient this hotel did the job for 4 of us staying in 2 rooms - be aware that the parking costs 5 Euros per day in a very tight underground parking facility; the hotel is also on a busy tram corner and they run all night

Basic hotel in a basic stadt.
Basic, basic, basic.... matches the low price. Had a fantastic soak in the bathtub! If you are on a budget and need it for one night: great choice. Do not expect luxury. To the image of the city bombed during WWII and rebuilt on basic principles.
