Beautifully remodeled, 1 bedroom condo with a stunning ocean view. The only thing between you and the beach is the Kauai Coastal Path!

We loved our stay at C305! We would face found it handy to have 2 gate towels each since the laundry is not in the room but rather in the guest floor, but otherwise, it was great! We loved the view, the choice of ac, the Murphy bed. All of it! It was a wonderful trip and memories we will cherish!

Excellent beach front condo on Kauai

Wonderful time on Kaua’i. The condo in Kapaa was in an excellent location, a few steps from the beach. Great place to barbecue or catch a bite at Pacos Tacos nearby. We took many walks along the beach and enjoyed swimming right off the shore. The condo was great, fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy the beach life, comfy bed, great lanai and a kitchen with every gadget needed.

Sunrise in Kauai

Oceanfront at its best. Kapaa is perfectly located on the island for travel north, south and west. The 3rd floor unit is right on the beach. Nicely furnished with tile floors throughout. A special thank you to our housekeeper Brenda, for her assistance with a few items. We definitely plan to visit again.

Nice ocean front unit

Well appointed one-bedroom unit; listing and info in unit needs updating. Resort is well-kept and convenient. It’s located right on the beach walk with a terrific ocean view. Listing mentions ac in living room which appears to have been removed some time ago.

Nice option for families in Kauai

The property is nice for families as being centrally located and those wishing to eat in. The out door BBQ's are cleaned every day! There is only one pool which can be crowded; the beach near by is ok for playing in the sand but not a place to swim or snorkel. Some time shares are more updated than VRBOs as ours had old textured ceilings and had not been updated for awhile.

Just As Great As Our First Stay

This one bedroom unit at the Pono Kai Resort is very nice with a full kitchen which is well maintained. Unlike some of the other units it has AC which makes it much more comfortable on a hot day. We enjoyed the wonderful view of the ocean at sunrise right from our room. The owner and the on island representative were easy to contact and responded quickly to any questions we had. The awesome thing about this property is that you are just a few steps away from the beach and biking/walking trail. “Bye” until next time.

Beautiful Oceanside Retreat

Breathtaking views of Pacific. Spent most of our morning and evenings on the balcony. 8 mile walking/biking trail begins at property and connects to countless restaurants, shops, and coffee bars. Elevator was out of commission for servicing, but Richard gave us ample warning. Pona Kai gave us help with our luggage, which really helped.

Beautiful Place

Nice size condo for 2 people. Wonderful location 50 yards from the ocean. The photos make it look like the ocean is much further away. Nice kitchen, quiet at night. Our stay was drastically shortened due to a health scare. We plan on trying again some time. Kuai is alot smaller than Maui. Mostly 2 lane roads everywhere, so you can't be in a hurry.

Great location, amazing view, nice amenities

We had a great stay at this Pono Kai property. The view from the lanai is amazing, even better than the listing pics! The condo is well-equipped, with everything you need in the kitchen plus lots of beach gear. The resort property offers a nice hot tub, pool and other amenities. The location right on the Ke Ala Hele Makalae path in Old Town Kapa'a makes for convenient access to restaurants and shops in town, plus the path is great for sunrise walks and bike rides. As other reviews have mentioned, the condo would benefit from a deep clean and a bit of a freshen-up. Certainly not a deal breaker and we would definitely stay again.

Exceptional stay with all aspects of this unit

EVERYTHING was great staying at this unit at Pono Kai. The resort was quiet and had everything you could want. The unit was well furnished and felt like home (loved the hard 2-wheel cooler). The ocean view from the balcony was amazing. Literally steps to eating (Pacco's Tacos Mexican delicious) next door to the resort. 2nd time on island and Kapa'a is a great midpoint for access to both north and south of island. Brenda is who we had contact with while staying and she was sweet and responded quickly to a couple of inquiries. If we ever got a third opportunity to go back to Kauai, this would be the first place I'd attempt to book "again". Thanks and Mahalo Richard!!

Not perfect. But pretty darn close.

Very nice and comfortable unit. The grounds and amenities are fantastic. Tennis, pickle ball, and lots of other activities are available on site. Beaches within 100 yards. Easily walkable to a lot of interesting food trucks. Which we found to be a much better option than any of the restaurants in the area. Perfect unit to just read a book and listen to the waves from the lanai. The unit could use a deep cleaning but was pretty good considering the throughput. A few minor problems, but nothing very annoying. Overall I would highly recommend and would like to return in two years and stay for two weeks instead of just 6 days.

Great location

The location and view of this condo is outstanding. It's a good area with a great view, great beach, and plenty of dining options. We would stay here again. Two things i would like to note that could use improvement but arent deal-breakers or enough to signifigantly hurt this review: 1) There is no deadbolt or chain keeper on the door for security. A hotel style door latch or chain keeper would give extra piece of mind for security. The keypad style lock is nice to have but I would have liked both. 2) The condo while cleaned, could really use a deep cleaning. There was quite a bit of dust on the cabinets in the bathroom, there was quite a bit of grit in the rugs in the bedroom, and the water pitcher in the fridge was dirty in the inside. All these things can be easily fixed with a simple deep clean of the condo. Overall, this condo is in a prime location and even of you find a more modern condo, if it doesn’t have the ocean view and great beach like this one, you will regret not staying here.

Gorgeous view and fantastic location

Loved our stay. View of the ocean was amazing. It was hard not to just sit on the balcony all day. Pono Kai is an older property (1970s), so keep this in mind. Not swanky, but well maintained. We had a little hiccup when we went to the front desk to get the card keys and wrist bands - they wanted us to forward to them an email confirmation from the owner. We told them we booked through VRBO so that would be difficult (if not impossible) to do. We did have a print out of the instructions from Richard. That seemed to satisfy them. Dishwasher went kaput. Brenda and the handyman ordered a new one. The good news is the next occupants will have a brand new dishwasher to use. Everything else worked fine. Walking into Kapaa town was an absolute joy! So many good places to eat and shop. Made us want to cry about the loss of Lahaina and its wonderful community. Would definitely stay here again. Course, my husband just decreed there will be no availability in the future “because I’m not leaving.” And, yes there are homeless folks. But every one of them we encountered was very polite. No problems at all. Indeed the only crime we encountered was a tourist being arrested for stealing a plush toy at the nearby ABC Store. Thank you Richard and Brenda!

Central location for visiting the island. Lots of places to eat and shop nearby. Air conditioning worked great in the bedroom and living room. It was nice to be able to borrow a cooler and beach towels.

Last minute Birthday get a way Winner

While this is an older building, it has been upgraded and has all the comforts. The location is superb, right on the water with walking path, Swimming pool, hot tub. beautiful grounds, and lots of extras to do., Activities abound at the pool, pingpong, games, and covered patio. I even read a really good book supplied by the owner. Has chairs, coolers, towels for pool available. The location is centered in Kapaa and makes it easy to travel to all corners of the Island. The only improvement I can suggest, is fixing the entrance door so it doesnt stick.. Moisture over time has made it warp in one corner. it takes a little extra force to open and is noisy.. Otherwise it was a great place for us to stay and celebrate our birthdays. Laurie & Gary

Nice stay great location

The host was out of town traveling so we didn't hear from him until the day before so that was stressful but everything went smoothly from there. Great location and all amenities you'd need are provided with a Safeway nearby. Furniture was made of cane and a but uncomfortable for sitting. Bed was way too soft for us but glad we had a king.
