Kākā Point Beach House

Modern, open planned beach house with a large, sunny and sheltered north facing deck.

Includes a heat pump, rinnai gas hot water, modern appliances, fixtures and Wifi!

The beach house has a very spacious modern bathroom as well as two good sized bedrooms, with each of the beds (1 x queen and 2 x singles) having new mattresses.

Sea views from the kitchen and deck. Right beside a children’s playground and backing onto a reserve. Short walk to the beach, ( patrolled in summer ) The Point Cafe and Bar and shop. Close to nature walk . Tennis court at the top of the street. Lots of native bird song !!!

Gateway to the Catlins, including the Nugget Point lighthouse and natural wonders including yellow-eyed penguins at Roaring Bay, sea lions at Surat Bay and the famous Purakanui Falls.
Special conditions:

Minimum 2 night stay.

Lovely and warm. Bonus was the sea view from the deck and kitchen window. Nice place to wind down watch the ocean and hear the waves rolling in.

Relaxing bach stay

Modernised kiwi bach with everything you could need. Beds very comfortable, locks on windows so you can air the house safely. Nice outdoor area. A couple of stools to supplement the two dining table chairs would have useful for our family of four but otherwise cannot fault it. Good price too. Would definitely come back.

Lovely place to stay.

A great place for a relaxing few days!!! Beds are extremely comfortable. Everything you need at finger tips. Place was warm when we arrived from sunshine in lounge and heatpump was great to keep warm through night. Nice and quiet location yet close enough to everything - beach, shop, walks, tennis court, playground next door and short drive to light house. Kids were sad to leave Kaka point. We had a wonderful time and will happily book again in the future.

Great Bach, fantastic location!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It made for a great base to explore the Catlin region. The park next door and the bush walk at the top of the hill was an added bonus for families. I was greatly impressed with how well kitted out this Bach was, with everything that we needed. My only suggestion would be for travellers to bring their own drinking water. There is a 4 Square in Owaka, which was handy for picking up casks, bottles etc. Overall I would highly recommend this property.

Comfortable cottage

Great location. Love the decor. Almost everything you need except sheets and towels. Attachment re linen and boiling the water did not travel with the email and could not access app. so it caused us a few difficulties. Drank the water too before we realised. Fortunately the boil water warning was cancelled.

Property was a great location, and very quiet. Walkable to a lovely pub. Bed very comfortable. The carpet was cheap and the vacuum didn't cope with it, so I found a small amount of dirt on the floor. Out of date yoghurt in the fridge, not sure if the property is checked between renters? Toilet flush weak.

Great place to stay

We had a wonderful time at this lovely property. It's like an old fashioned kiwi bach brought fully up to date and made very comfortable with everything you could need (BYO linen). There is a great little pub/restaurant down the hill and Kaka Point is an excellent place to explore the Catlo s.

Kaka Point break

We had a lovely time. Crib was everything that was one this site. Very clean and tidy. Location handy to beach and amenities. There was a boil drink notice for the area so the owner dropped off some water which we were grateful for.
