The “Promise Tree” is a great family gathering place in Kailua Kona!

Experience the exquisite natural beauty of the Big Island. This beautiful custom home built in 2014 is located in an extremely quiet community 5 minutes from downtown Kailua-Kona. There are spectacular views of both the ocean and mountains.

There are 5+ private bedroom suites surrounding a saltwater pool and a huge central lanai complete with a bar, BBQ grill/griddle and big screen TV – great for gathering and sunset dining.

Enjoy spectacular sunsets from almost anywhere in the house.
Each suite has a private bath and private entrance.
1 suite has a queen bed, queen sofa bed in a separate room, living room, full kitchen, laundry, 1.5 bathrooms, and private lanai
1 suite has 2 queen beds plus a full futon couch and large living room area. It has a private balcony perfect for watching amazing Kona sunsets.

2 suites have a queen bed in each and a large lanai for sunset views and stargazing.

In addition, there is our Surfer cottage which has a private screened bedroom with a full futon and the best views on the entire property. There is a private half bath with an outdoor shower. Enjoy the sunset and the stars around your own private fire pit.

There is one additional cottage available on site with 2 queen beds, private bath and private courtyard (additional charge for this separate cottage)

The estate is full of banana trees, citrus trees, pineapples, herbs, and vegetables. You are welcome to pick whatever is ripe.

The house is close, approximately 1.5 miles, to a variety of activities for you and your guests to utilize, this includes beaches like Kahaluu Beach Park and White Sands Beach: major department stores and boutiques, and dining choices range from fast food to fine dining restaurants.

You and your guests will never want to leave!

There is a 5-night minimum stay (7-night minimum during Christmas/New Year and Ironman). This is a non-smoking, no pets property. We are a hosted VRBO with an on-site host available for your needs. (GE-090-281-0112-01, TA-090-0112-01)

Taxes passes on to guest: Transient Accommodations Tax at 10.25% and General Excise Tax at 4.712% for a total tax passed on of 14.962%

Vacation destination of a lifetime.

Spectacular place!

All of our family loved staying at The Promise Tree! The pool was perfect for a range of swimming skills, and the huge lanai, with a gorgeous view of sky and sea and stars (and all its seating and outdoor dining areas) was far beyond what we expected! Our hosts Esther and Josh were incredibly responsive and ery generous. We would highly recommend this property to any family group wanting to make the best of the Big Island visit!

Great Family place

This is a wonderful property! It is in a beautiful area and quiet neighborhood. Quick access to the shopping areas and restaurants. The views are spectacular and we even saw a few whales spouting. The buildings are separated but it has an outdoor living room/kitchen area by the pool where you can gather. The hosts are very friendly and responsive. We loved spending time here!!

Authentic Hawaiian Experience

Amazing home for an amazing vacation

The view is stunning. The layout of the property was perfect for each couple to have private space with a great outdoor common area for hanging out by the pool and eating meals. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Great time with a Large Group!

We had an incredible time at the Promise Tree for a holiday vacation with extended family. Plenty of space for a large group and it was so nice that the common area was all outside. Close to all the action in Kona. Definitely would stay here again!

Had the best stay here with our large family for our wedding. I would highly recommend. The Host Ester was the best. Made sure we had everything we needed and more. Location perfect close to anything in Kona. House was stocked with everything you would think of. Thank you!!

Relaxing Family Getaway

The Promise Tree was the perfect location for our family to relax and unwind in Hawaii. We loved all the amenities and space for the family to spread out and enjoy the beautiful property and views. Perfect!

Promise Tree is a beautiful compound. It’s rich with nature and has gorgeous views and clean and comfortable living spaces. Our group of 9 —five adults and four kids ages 6-10 — had a fabulous time swimming in the pool, grilling and eating in the open lanai, playing yard games, enjoying the birds and lizards, taking early morning walking through the large property, and soaking in glorious sunsets over the ocean. Promise Tree is even more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures show. Perfect location, etc. highly recommend. Also Esther, the host was very communicative and gave us a tour at the beginning which was super helpful. Be sure to check out Hāpuna Beach and Kua Bay Beach when you stay .

Amazing family vacation

Esther and Josh were amazing hosts and we had a wonderful family vacation with 13 of us at their beautiful Kona home. We had everything we needed for our week long stay and wish we could have stayed much longer. The property is even more beautiful than the photos and was perfect for the kids and adults, everyone had their own space when needed and the outdoor BBQ area was amazing for family dinners. We hope to be back one day and would recommend to anyone!

Amazing time at The Promise Tree!

Eight adults and five kids. Couldn’t have been a better vacation!The kids chose to sleep together in their own “apartment”. They started every morning in the pool. Continued through the day in the ocean and then back in the pool before bed.The property is huge and perfectly kept. Lots of beach stuff. Umbrellas, chairs, wagon and toys.The Promise Tree is close Kailua Village, beaches, restaurants and shops.Esther and Josh were amazing hosts. We would definitely want to come back.

Fan fun n paradise

Our 3 adult kids came with their family (4 grands and one on the way. ) Plenty of room for us all especially when breaks were needed for anything. Close to beaches,shops and more. Perfect spot for us all. Even helicopter tours not far and very exciting.

This property worked very well for our group. We especially enjoyed the pool with two small children to entertain. They loved it. A bigger dining table to accommodate all 13 of us would have been appreciated. Maybe something with fold up leaves. This was a very enjoyable stay!

Amazing place to stay!

We were here with extended family for a 10 day getaway. It was a dream! Esther was so easy to work with. Lots of space to spread out and have our own space, but also spend lots of family time together around the pool, by the firepit or in the outdoor living area. I would highly recommend this property and would go back in a heartbeat if visiting the island! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Very Hawaiian Experience

The open air design of this estate was very cool and felt like a genuine Hawaiian experience! I was a little skeptical of no AC, but the elevation supported cool and breezy evenings and good sleeping weather! The outdoor living room and dining area made for a great gathering place for our family. We loved being a bit out of town while only being a short drive to shopping and restaurants. The pool and yard are beautiful and well kept!!

Family get together

We had younger kids all the way up to grandparents. Everyone enjoyed the stay, kids had lots to do. The outdoor space is great for connecting with the family over cards or Football games, Movies etc. Esther was helpful in providing a couple of small things we had a special need for. Rooms could be a little warm for sleeping at night, otherwise very happy with our stay.

BEST FAMILY VACA SPOT

All 9 of us adults agree that Esther's Promise Tree Home was the PERFECT spot for our family (3 generations) of 14 to gather. Each family had their "own space"which was a game changer. There are plenty of places to gather as a large group- the dining lanai, outdoor living room, pool & fire pit. Esther lives right next door and is a wonderful hostess- full of beach recommendations, restaurants ideas etc. Kona is not far nor is Costco if you are feeding a crowd. We all have wonderful memories of our week spent here. It is LOVELY. GO!!

Expansive property

The place was large and beautiful with plenty of separate rooms to accommodate our group of 10. The pictures cannot capture how open and spread out it truly is. The view of the ocean, fruit trees, grills, pool and fire pit were great amenities. Esther was welcoming and helpful answering my husband’s many questions 🙂. If it weren’t so difficult to get to Hawaii, I’d say we’ll be back every year and want to keep this one a secret. It was perfect; we had everything we needed.
