Appreciate the chance to get within touching distance of big cats, including jaguars and cheetahs, on a guided safari tour through this park.

The Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary is a picturesque enclosure that holds a collection of majestic felines as well as zebras, reptiles and other animals. It serves as a vast refuge for big cats as their natural environments are invaded by humans. Get a closer look at some of the most rare and wonderful species in the world.

Embark on a thrilling 90-minute guided safari from the reception area. Spot big cats and other rare animals in their custom-made enclosures. Speak with the expert docent to learn about the park and its diverse range of wildlife. Find out about the behavioral traits of the species and the individual animals in the complex. Among the highlights are the Siberian tiger, jaguar, leopard, cheetah and white tiger. Spot the wild dogs, the honey badger and the skunk-like zorilla.

The sanctuary has the mission of raising awareness of the plight of the animals and providing habitats for the creatures that need homes. Hear how the big cats are rescued from circuses and zoos to have a better life here, where they are protected from poacher attacks.

Enjoy snacks, light meals and refreshments from the Puzzle Café. Purchase souvenirs and gifts with a safari theme from the curio shop. In 2013, the entire operation embarked on a major relocation project from Mossel Bay to the current site on the Garden Route near Plettenberg Bay.

Purchase admission or get combo tickets that include the nearby sites of the Birds of Eden and Monkeyland. Kids get discounts. The sanctuary opens daily from morning until late afternoon. Guided safaris take place every 15 to 20 minutes in all weather conditions.

From Keurboomstrand, drive northeast for less than 10 minutes to reach Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary. It is in a densely forested region comprising several private nature reserves. Visit the nearby Arch Rock, Elephant Sanctuary and Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre.
