Romantic and relaxing

The property and host are amazing. They have great communication and a beautiful home. We got to meet Burrito and enjoy the rainy season at a wonderful location. An amazing place for a romantic getaway or family time.

Perfect nature retreat

A frame

Awesome cabin with amazing decor. Hosts are on top of things and you can tell a lot of love went into this place. Oh and there’s burrito, sweetest donkey u will ever meet. Loved the stay here.

Perfect Southern Illinois Getaway

I cannot say enough about this AMAZING house and host! This was the absolute perfect place to spend several days and nights while taking in the most beautiful parts Southern Illinois. The proximity to Shawnee National Forest, Giant City State Park, and SIUC is ideal. The house is a real treasure and our kids did not want to leave. We cannot wait to go back again!

Eclecticly Besutiful and fun

Between the lake, hottub,firepit,games room etc. This place had so much to enjoy. The hosts where excellent on responce time to questions we had. 10/10 wpuod reccomend this place to everyone. If you do plan on fishing be sure to be bring extra strength bug spray, as you are out in the woods near water. Thank you for our magical weekend getaway!

Unique well equipped getaway

Loved our stay at Margie B’s. Very cool A Frame, great location. Great communication and response from Tasha. Close to some great restaurants, winery’s and bars and all were very welcoming!

Wonderful property, wonderful hosts!

My wife and I and our five year-old son were fortunate enough to stay at this cabin for a couple days while on spring break. To say that the cabin was perfect and the hosts were gracious and accommodating would be an understatement. They went out of their way to make sure our son felt welcome on their property. Burrito the burro was an absolute delight. The cabin is super close to many great hiking/exploration spots in Shawnee National Forest. Our two days went by super fast and we’re already looking forward to returning. Thanks folks!

The hosts are wonderful, caring people who have a well equipped gorgeous lodge that has everything. The Family live nearby and sincerely care about us and great conversation. Our Family will return soon! Thanks for a great week. We are their first guests. Fun and relaxing!

The property is serene, eclectic, comfortable. Communication with Tasha was easy and informative. Coffee out on the deck overlooking the lake was perfection. Bring shampoo/conditioner/body wash as that’s not available. Otherwise, lots of amenities. Would stay here again.

Amazing

This cabin is amazing. If you're looking for peace, beauty, or esthetics... absolutely wonderful. It was just my girlfriend and i for valentines weekend and the property owner had flowers, chocolates (really good ones!), Hershey kisses (everywhere! Lol) and it was just wonderful in all aspects... and buritto visited us the first night, and s/he was so freaking cool... we were both amazed that s/he didn't smell (at all) and just wanted pets... nuzzled with my girlfriend for a bit, then went about his/ her business... def will reopen to this cabin in the future! just wonderful

Great place but stressful stay

The place was great. I loved the decor, the hot tub and the locations outside. It ended up being stressful though because apparently we missed the fact that if more than 2 people come, you have to pay an additional fee per person per night. We assumed if the place had 3 king beds, it slept at least 6. Apparently not so don’t miss that detail. I guess they were watching us because I woke up Saturday morning to missed calls, voicemails, texts and emails saying if we didn’t pay for the extra people they were going to stop by, it was very stressful and unnerving and we wouldn’t have booked it if we had know how expensive it would be. I’m still trying to recover from the extra money I ended up having to spend in the middle of my “relaxing” girls weekend. I realize it was my fault for not reading the fine print but it really affected our stay. We also walked into the cabin to find a dying mouse on the floor and had to remove it ourselves. There were some wasps inside also. I also had a hard time getting the code for arrival because Vrbo would not load the message with the information.

Short getaway

Short 2 night trip to hit festivals, local bars and restaurants and breweries. Nice place, we had fun and it was close to hiking and several fall activities.
