"Room smelt awful, the paint was peeling, blanket was worn and dirty, and the blinds were also torn and filthy. On the plus side, the aircon and shower worked."

"For the area of Sandakan that this hotel is in this is a pretty good option if you really have to stay here! I would not recommend the area at all.
The staff here were very attentive and friendly. The room was adequate but the pillows were horrendous! Just lumpy lumps of hard sponge!
The shower and sink use a pump system which was not smooth at all and you either had a ‘power’ shower or a trickle.
The hotel is near the Central Market, Harbour Mall & the promenade plus local shops but don’t get...

"Für eine Nacht war es ok. Das Bett war bequem. Und es war ruhig. Allerdings gab es Kakerlaken im Zimmer, was bei dieser hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit aber leider relativ normal ist. das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist gut."

"we arrived in carpark with cases, expected to carry up long stairway, or roll up side ramp. impossible with 2 cases each. nowhere to sit outside, 1 chair per chalet outside, long uphill walk to reception, then down stairs to carpark to get to restaurant. food limited menu, breakfast buffet awful, mostly cold. what food they had in restaurant was cheap, we are both over 60 and would not return.only hot water if suns out.

"Bathroom smelt awful, there was quite a lot of noise from outside, beds were uncomfortable but the staff were friendly and helpful and they have a water machine to refill water bottles"
"We had a one night stop here and found this place a great choice. Very clean and like and modern. Good sized room and clean modern bathroom.
Easy parking too.
Good breakfast with fresh omelette to order and good choice in a hot and cold buffet.
Would highly recommend it to you."
"Great stay at the Hotel Sandakan. Room was great for our family of four. Great view out to the Sandakan harbour. Lovely breakfast in the restaurant (we also had lunch there twice as part of a tour we were on, and can confirm that was very yummy too)."
"This is an old hotel, it used to be one of the best hotels in Sandakan before.
Now I saw the building itself is outstanding there but I also realized that the quality of their service and maintenance are not perfect anymore because of recession by the pandemic.
One of the reasons why I decided this hotel for staying, the review mentions a " nice breakfast". But they don't have it now.
Regarding amenities like a shampoo and toilet rolls, it requires payment if you get extra. I stayed 2nights 3days, so I was wondering If I should buy some.
These are the things uncomfortable part staying this hote.
However, this hotel fee is cheap and stuffs are friendly. I have no complaints."
