Top hotels and accommodation in Isle of Colonsay

Living room
St Columba Hotel
3.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (43)
"The hotel is situated right next door to the abbey, and the whole island is walkable from there. The hotel has a beautiful food garden that is at least a few acres, and guests are free to walk in the organic garden, I found this very peaceful. Staff were all very helpful, picked up my bags at the ferry, which was welcome. The hotel is very comfortable with large lounge areas, which led to lots of interaction with other guests, adding to the pleasure."

"My wife and I stayed here for one night while we visited the Isle of Colonsay; we wish we could have stayed longer but the limited ferry schedule constrained us. Since this is the only hotel on the island, it doesn't exactly have much competition, but it provides a good experience nonetheless. In addition to a hotel, it's a pub, lounge, and restaurant, and there are tables and chairs set up in the grassy yard. "Lovely B&B. Host is wonderful. They picked us up from the ferry and took us back. Wine in the evening in the sunroom. Our room had a lovely view to the water. They also provided us with breakfast to go for the morning we left for the 6:45 ferry."

"We stayed in ‘The Bothy’ at Artun. Mrs Cameron met us and made us feel welcome. The position of the Bothy was good for us as it was close to the loch and we saw an otter. We enjoyed the peaceful setting. Thank you."

"Good location looking straight down to the sea loch…otters close by though we failed to see them. The local walk along the b road is lovely….looking towards The Wilderness. Mrs Campbell is a real character…gets very heated if you leave the gate open, but otherwise very chatty and amiable."
