"Initially was given a room which needed a guide to fined and required oxegen, so many steps up and down, the staff very quickly gave me a different room in a better location, but the TV could not be controlled and i was unable to watch TV. The room was cold till i was shown the control was outside the room door. One of the reasons I stayed at the ship previously was there is a carpark right next door, overnight parking till 8am next day. This has changed and it is now only till 5am so you have to leave at 5am or get up and go to move your car to another parking. For this reason I will never stay at the Ship again, I an going to Chelmsford again in a couple of weeks and have found a new location."

"The spa and hotel operate as separate businesses, which means charges cannot be added to the hotel room bill. Unfortunately, this was not explained to us at check-in. While at the spa, we ordered a few drinks and I did not have my card with me. Instead of offering a convenient solution, the staff advised me to get changed, return to my room to collect my card, and then come back to settle the bill. It was an extremely disappointing and inconvenient experience."

"Only one word really…… Wow!!! Beautiful location, stunning property, beautifully finished…. So so comfortable, even the Sofia bed was a dream. To top it all off the private garden was so picturesque, loved watching the ducklings swimming past. Totally idealistic, and friendly accommodating hosts. We will be back!"

"Very clean, comfortable bed and sofa, nice to have a desk. Kitchen mostly equipped, just needed to get a couple cleaning supplies and a tea pot! Would stay again."
