Kit’s Cabin - Log Cabin Retreat in Indianapolis

Welcome to our 150-year-old log cabin, nestled in the heart of Indianapolis! This cozy retreat offers a tranquil getaway while being just minutes away from all modern conveniences and only 20 minutes from downtown.

Step inside and be greeted by the rich history of exposed wooden beams and a large stone fireplace. Our authentic rustic decor and cozy cabin amenities will transport you to a simpler time.

The cabin has an open concept main floor. Guests enter into the living area, which flows into the dining space and full kitchen. The staircase goes up from the living room into a large open loft bedroom. The bedroom has a King size bed, smart TV, additional seating, large closet and an updated bathroom and shower.

The cabin is located in a wonderful, safe family neighboring with sidewalks, minutes away from every modern convenience. Starbucks, Target, grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, and hospitals are all within 5-6 minutes. Downtown Indianapolis is a quick 20 minute trip south on Meridian St, lined with the most prestigious and historic homes in our wonderful city.

Honeymoon Retreat

This was a perfect location for us. It was cozy and comfortable. The only suggestion we would have is to provide some kleenex and blankets. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay! Very peaceful and quiet, but not too far away from things to do. Kitchen amenities are wonferful; just bring what you want to cook and they provide the rest. Bathroom is small, but still very nice! Would Absolutely stay here again!

Amazing place to stay

My husband and I brought our child to Indianapolis to visit the children’s museum for his birthday. We stayed in this beautiful little cabin for the weekend. The owner was absolutely amazing to work with. Check in and check out were a breeze, and one of the owners children was the sweetest by leaving a few toys for my son to play with. We will keep this little cabin in mind when we come back to Indianapolis.

In Town Country

Great place to stay. Love the history of the cabin being first constructed in 1860 and then moved to the new site where it now stands. Decor matches perfectly. I will check for availability here first when staying in Indy.

Kits Cabin is a MUST

When coming back to Indy this will be the first place I will look for. The cabin is spotless upon arrival and the king size bed and pillows are absolute comfort. The neighborhood is a 10/10 and it’s a short drive to Broad Ripple which is a must to go to. Kim provides the smoothest check in ever. Couldn’t have been any better.

The property was as described. Very clean and included all the amenities we needed. Comfortable stay for me, my husband, and our 2 dogs. Only thing that would have made it better is access to a recycling bin, which we didn't find.

Quick Overnight in Kit’s Cabin

Unique old cabin in the middle of the city. There are steps to the loft and steps into a tiny bathroom, which were ok- just had to be careful. The lighting was not great, but it was a cabin. The neighborhood was close to shopping if needed. It was an interesting stop for the night.

Soccer Weekend Extravaganza

We reserved Kits Cabin for the Regional Men's Club Soccer College Tourney. We did not want to stay in a hotel because we wanted to save money on meals by having access to a kitchen. The cabin was quiet and quaint. The neighborhood felt very safe. Kimberly was very prompt with responses to my questions. I didn't realize the property was attached to another structure (not sure if it was the other half of a house or an apartment, but we were not disturbed by the neighbors.) The bathroom was small, but would not hinder us from staying again. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Who knew??!!

Who knew you could stay in a gorgeous rustic log cabin in the heart of the city! Great all season place to stay! Large kitchen and dining area, very comfortable sitting room with lots of room and a wood burning fireplace (too warm for us to use!) Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Indianapolis! Host is very good and easy to work with.
