• Before booking anything, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Keep informed with the latest updates by reviewing government and airport websites.
• You're required to wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA employee.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, position your pass on the scanner and then hold it up for inspection.
• You're permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. You'll have to remove it for X-ray scanning.
• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
