Midweek stop

Lovely country pub in the middle of a charming English village. Great spot for some peace and quiet. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great stay!

One night stay and throughly enjoyed our time here. Owners and staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was lovely, bed was comfy and we’ll certainly stay again. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you.

Lovely overnight stay, great food

Lovely country pub and inn … We stayed overnight to break onward journey up, had an evening meal which was excellent.

The extra mile

Very good. The feel of a local pub plus friendly and welcoming to guests. The landlord went out of his way to cater for my coeliac diet - GF beer now available! Breakfast was excellent…

Excellent stay for business or visiting local area

Food was really nice and reasonably priced. Room was spacious and comfortable with a good shower! Parking on site right next to your room, what more do you want?!

Traditional country pub in delightful village. Bedroom comfy but small, modern smart bathroom but also on the small side. Ideal for an overnight stay. Tasty meal and home cooked breakfast

Two night stay for a friend's wedding nearby.

Everything was good, staff helpful and friendly, good breakfast, warm room, comfy bed, and easy access to room during the day as it was a purpose built block at the back of the pub, very near the carp ark. Only slight criticism would be that individual sachets of shampoo, shower gel etc are wasteful and use excessive plastic. Larger containers are more environmentally friendly. But thanks for a great stay.

Quite pleasant stay

Very welcoming hosts and pleasant food - both dinner and breakfast. Bedroom not so good - bed hard and uncomfortable and only very small tv with many channels not working. Also the room would have benefitted from airing and a bit of warmth before we arrived as it was a cool wet day. Hotel interesting with many historical features and very good beer.

An enjoyable couple of days

An excellent country pub with rooms. Comfortable room with a good bathroom with walk-in shower. A reasonable breakfast. Everyone very friendly and it had a real village feel to it. Close enough to Ilminster and Taunton for major shopping.

Good food and a friendly atmosphere.

This was my third visit, which is recommendation in itself. Dinner was excellent and staff are friendly. It would probably suit a couple or small group rather than a single traveller as it has a real 'local pub' feel to it, although I think if you stayed for more than one night you would quickly fit in. It took a couple of attempts to log into the wi-fi, but it did work then. The room itself was clean and comfortable and breakfast was really good. The car park is at the back of the building up a small alleyway and is plenty big enough.
