Hotel was closed down. Was being actually shut down by health and safety department as we were checking in. Waiting for our money back from Expedia they were going to contact us but are still awaiting their call.
The location was locked up and there was a sign in the window saying "Closed - Sorry for the inconvenience" We had to find alternative accommodation. What does the word Confirmed mean?
This place was closed by the Fire Dept, Gas Company. I was informed of this the minute I got there. I was told he was under investigation buy the insurance company as he has had two fires at his other property’s. This is all I know so if you want to move forward on this it is your responsibility now. You have a good day.
I am not crazy about cleanness, but for me there were very dirty. We found a lot of hair on both beds. Bathroom had a lot of dust in vents, floor and walls. Bathtub had scurf. I couldn't walk without socks anywhere. The only one thing that we liked - it's 50" TV.
We booked this room as there were no other rooms left in the area. The lobby was very messy and should have been a sign. The room was a good size and had a large LCD TV in it but the room smelled really bad and was very old, you could tell they are trying to improve the place but it has a long way to go.
eben ein Motel, nichts besonderes, für die Durchreise ok, wirkt von außen nicht so einladend, doch die Zimmer und Bad waren sauber und in Ordnung, auch das bett war ok
Overall the motel is very run down. The 'lobby' is a very small area and very cluttered and not clean. The room we were assigned was in another building and was large enough but very old and in need of maintenance. Rug was dirty and the floor by the mini-fridge was heaved up and fridge door would only open about half way. There was no hand soap in the bathroom and the floor heat register was very dirty and din't fit very well. Not a good experience.

Les propriétaires n'ont pas lésinés sur la technologie. Le lit était confortable. Le prix était très abordable.
Our room was adequately clean but seriously shabby. For example, the window curtains were crude and broken, such that it was impossible to shut them well enough to have privacy. (And since the window looked straight out onto the parking lot, there were people and cars going by frequently, so being unable to close the curtains wasn't a trivial defect. Luckily, I had a binder clip with me that I was able to use to close them, but that shouldn't have been necessary.) Also for example, the shower controls were very touchy, and even when I left them alone, the water temperature jumped around. All the furnishings were old and worn. I'd say this motel deserves one star, not two. And for a one-star motel, it's seriously overpriced, even in a tiny town like Ignace. In two weeks of travel across Canada, it's easily the least satisfactory place my partner and I have stayed.
I usually don't comment about hotels/motels, but this time I have to.
Proprietor could not find my reservation: didn't have my last name on it. Finally found it.
Walked into room: 82°F in there according to the thermostat. Turned on A/C; found filter of A/C completely blocked with dust. Washed filter before A/C died.
Went into washroom: floor sticky due to it not being rinsed properly. Wet a towel and cleaned it myself.
Overall decor okay, but needs work. Hole in wall due to door knob hitting wall due to no door stop. Nice to have an overhead light but the dead flies in it need to be removed. Glasses provided do not have wrapping on them to keep dust/bugs out. New caulking required around bathtub due to mildew growing....use mildew resistant caulking next time.
When taking a shower, it's not bad until someone flushes a toilet upstream of you, then you're showering in scalding water.
Nice big TV with lots of satellite channels.
Lots of plug ins for all the electrical things I travel with.
Faucet in washroom needs an aerator installed so water doesn't splash all over.
They "flash" the lights 30 minutes before check out time. That is rude, as the power for the whole place is cut off. You could be using a hair dryer or electric shaver which will cut out and may cause damage to the device.
Comfortable bed. Good WiFi.
Overall, you get what you pay for.
Very dirty motel. Bring a set of sheets as they obviously do not change them on a regular basis. All sorts of hairs everywhere. Shower did not drain. This caused the tub to fill up with water within a few minutes of turning on the shower. At least our room had a cool mural! I've stayed in a lot of low-cost budget motels, and I'm okay with simple. Even a little bit of unfinished trim etc. But it's pretty reasonable to expect clean sheets! Dirty everything, if I named everything this review would be a book. Coffee maker, fridge, chairs etc. Stains, filth, and hairs!
Room was not ready for us 3 hours past check in time so we didn’t end up staying. Very disappointed. Luckily the gentleman I dealt with allowed us to cancel without penalty

Disliked: Cleanliness
Only motel in town on Expedia
They are pet friendly. The room was covered in pet fur. The rooms have been renovated but a lot of things were left unfinished. The motel across the road filled up on this Saturday night The Trading Post only had a few patrons. Probably worth checking across the road..

Fine place for an overnight stop.
It's not the Ritz, but it's clean and fits the bill. I've paid more for less! It was exactly what I needed to break a trip between Thunder Bay and Kenora.
There are restaurants, groceries, financial institutions close by.
Canada and U.S. internet calling included...wifi is decent.
