"We were at Strawberry Creek Inn, a sister property of Idyllwild Inn. Right behind the property is Strawberry Creek and a path next to it is a nice shady 10 minute walk to the main part of town. Perfect since our goal was to be out in nature and leave the car behind. (We did need to drive a short distance to get to trailhead for Ernie Maxwell Trail, which was a great hike, as well.) Across the street from the Strawberry Creek Inn is a small community dog park/run where you can let them off-leash. The hotel didn't charge extra for having a pet, which is nice. The room was pleasant and the bathroom had a jetted tub. We stayed one night and have no complaints. We would recommend it. But if you want to be directly in town, their main property, Idyllwild Inn is the choice you want. Be sure you know which property you are getting because we accidently went to Idyllwild Inn to check in, not realizing we were at the other location. We were very content with our spot, though."

"I recommend staying in a stamd alone mini cabin, NOT the rooms that are connected to each other. PAPER THIN walls. Had to listen to the my neighbors doing the horizontal shuffle all night. I could her every grunt and exhale. Didn't sleep well"

"The views and location were nice, but the room was dusty and poorly maintained (mini fridge sounded like it was dying, had to run the water for 10 minutes in the morning to get hot water, etc). The noise was worst part. The road noise was constant and loud (the Bunkhouse is on the main road though town) and we could hear every moan from the couple next to us through the wall."

"The property at Fireside Inn is decent but not well maintained. We first stayed there in 2021 and it seems to have gone downhill a bit. We stayed in the Ponderosa unit this time and were not fans. It’s at the front of the property so you hear all the road noise. There is no porch to sit and have coffee in the morning or just listen to the birds in this unit. The room is all wood paneling so extremely dark. The bathroom sink was leaking and got water all over the floor - we reported it upon checkout so hopefully they’ll fix that. We might stay again and pick a different unit but there are other local places to stay that have better grounds and upkeep. The biggest plus is that it’s close to town so easy walkability to everything. Nice to have a wood burning fireplace too for an evening fire. Kitchen in this unit is small but also nice to have a full mini kitchen. There are trade offs so it depends on what important to you. "

"This place exceeded our expectations. Everything was top notch. Daniel and Shawn very very professional, friendly and helpful. They showed us around the place, informed us about the breakfast deal for the next morning and gave us a great restaurant recommendation for dinner just a couple of steps away from the Lodge. Will definitively go back."

The location, layout of the house, and amenities are exactly as described on the site. The house and surrounding land was clean and well maintained. Although the driveway is steep, it was easy to navigate; definitely recommend turning around at the top so as to make the departure easier. I appreciated the prompt response by the property manager about check in, check out, and the one time we had to call (we asked to have the trash removed as we filled the outside garbage cans before our check out date.) The town of Idyllwild itself was fantastic; there’s a lot to do in the immediate neighborhood of the house, including hiking, shopping, fishing on Hemet Lake, enjoying the delicious restaurants (Atomic Cow and Idyllwild Pizza were our faves), and pottery painting at Earth Fire. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing vacation with extended family. Highly recommend!"

"Had a wonderful experience!! Cabin bigger than it looks, very clean, TONS of towels (which I respect), and it had all your basic needs. Communication from the hosts was easy and responsive! The location is absolutely perfect! Easy walk to town! The backyard is perfect for dogs but make sure to keep them leashed. We will absolutely be coming back!"

"A 3 night escape from LA for a peaceful stay. So. Peace. Full. Close to hiking trails. Super clean and well appointed. Spacious. A little sad to leave. Especially the hot tub amongst the pines… "
