IdyllAway Vintage Cabin - Kid Friendly Sledding Cul-de-Sac!

IdyllAway is a 1946 vintage cabin on a quiet cul-de-sac. The rare covered front porch is ideal for relaxing and taking in the serene surroundings. The tree shaded deck is a few steps down from the cabin. Just a few blocks from the wonderful Ernie Maxwell trail, and less than a mile to town.

We are on a short gravel road, just off a paved road. There is no through traffic, which means it is very safe for kids to play in front of the house and the surrounding area.

THE SPACE
Large open living room and dining area with a beautiful heavy oak table for family dining. Unique vintage stove and original hardware adorn the kitchen. There is a forest themed cubby off the Living room with a double bed that is perfect for a couple kids. High quality linens and Leesa beds in the bedrooms.

Fast 500Mbs WiFi.

There is a large screen TV with sound bar, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and News channels. Coffee and tea is provided (we have K-cups, coffee grinder, and a French Press).

Free EV charging! No charging cable though… please bring your own with NEMA 14-30 plug (220V 32A dryer type plug)

$50 pet fee per week or portion thereof.

Other things to note:
Our little road is not plowed in the winter. As noted in the house rules, during snow days you may have to park at the top of the road, and walk about 100 feet to the cabin. There is one space cleared for you on the main road, so if you have two vehicles, you may have to park the other one down the road a bit.

Like many cabins on septic in Idyllwild, there is no garbage disposal.

There is one window AC unit in the Living Room (summer only).

This is a cabin, there is a fireplace, and it is used. We do our best to clean it out between guests but it is not perfect. There may be a slight smell of fireplace when you arrive.

Quiet time outside and on deck 9p-8a. Please be considerate at all other times. No street parking. There is room for two cars in the driveway.
No pets allowed in the cabin, or on the back deck, while you are not there. No pets allowed on furniture or bedding (please bring dog bed).
Pets may not be allowed during peak holiday dates, especially winter, as rain and snow make it hard on our wood floors (no mud room). Max 30 nights.

A relaxing getaway in a charming cabin! We enjoyed staying here, as it had everything we needed and more. The deck was great to sit and listen to the birds while having morning coffee. The location was nice and close to town, in a super quiet neighborhood. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer, but there’s always next time! Thank you very much!

This is such a great cabin and as it states, perfect for a family. It has a great mixture of classic and modern tech for a place like that. My family loved being there, the 4 year old and 1 year old were comfortable in their rooms when it came time for rest and outside is best for them to run around in a quiet and safe area. Such a great spot!

This is a beautiful, restful mountain retreat. Nestled among other cabins, yet quiet and undisturbed. This is the best property I’ve stayed at in years and look forward to going back again.

Restful Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this property! It was exactly as described online—super clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family, including our 18-month-old and dog. Everything was well-maintained, with all electronics working perfectly, and the mattresses were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. We’d highly recommend this property and would love to stay again!

Great little cabin in a great location

Enjoyed the mornings on the porch listening to the close by creek and chickadees singing, hiked every day, used the grill on the side of the house, walked around the neighborhood in admiration. We brought our dog (golden retriever) and he was so happy there as well. Close to town but also not TOO close. Loved this cabin!! Would stay again.

Wonderful Experience!

We were lucky to find this wonderful gem for our last minute getaway. The cabin was spacious for 2 people and very quiet. Just a 5 minute drive to the center of town and close to great hiking. The owners were very communicative and responsive! I highly recommend staying here!

During normal weather conditions, great location. I gave it a lower rating on location only because during winter months, could be very challenging getting to and from the cabin safely. We enjoyed our stay, comfortable for party of 6 only. Will definitely rent again.

Fantastic Home, Perfect Location

We’ve stayed in over 10 properties in Idyllwild and this is now a favorite. The location is fantastic because it’s not too far from town but still in a quiet location. The property had everything we needed and a comfortable sleeping spot for each of the 4 of us. The fireplace was wonderful to have and cozy up to in the evenings. The communication was spot on and I appreciated the welcome feeling from the hosts. We’ll definitely be back!

Really comfortable and great location!

A buddy and I stayed in Idyllwild to hike Round Valley. The cabin was located close to the beautiful downtown area and trailhead. So after a hard day on the trail, it was great to stop in town for supplies, then relax in the great space of the cabin in front of a fire. Will definitely add this cabin to my favorites. Also, John and Lara were excellent communicators. Thanks for the great hosting!

Really sweet spot and cabin

We went up for a long weekend with our toddler. The location on the cul-de-sac was perfect for snow play with just a few inches of snow on the ground and no traffic. We walked to a nice trail in above the neighborhood with lots of friendly folks and gorgeous views. The first morning we saw a bobcat trotting by the house! Definitely a special spot. The cabin was adorable too, not fancy by any means but that made it even cozier for us. If you want pristine, with all new appliances, this isn’t the spot for you. The owners are lovely and responsive. Would stay here again!

Idyllwild Get Away

Very cute cabin. It is close to the “downtown” area of Idyllwild. Lots of nearby hikes too. We enjoyed our stay.
