The general area is rustic, and there is really only one good road into Colca Canyon from either Puno or Arequipa. "Overall a good stay. The hosts were friendly and the food was decent. Unfortunately, there seemed to be an issue with the hot water tank, so we didn’t have hot water during our stay. Aside from that, it was a good value for the price."

"The worst “hotel” imaginable. Staff have no idea what they’re doing. No wifi (i mean who needs wifi). I was told to be ready at 6 am sharp for transport to the city. It never came. The hotel reception said that in Peru when we say 6 am we really mean 7 am. Unbelievable. I only woke up at 5 am and was there 15 minutes early. I had to hitch a ride with another couple’s driver (pure luck) to get to the city, My driver is still probably on his way. The worst part is in my haste I left behind my hat. Don’t speak a word of English for those that don’t speak Spanish. Avoid this like the plague."
