The best area to stay in I Piani is the immediate vicinity of the main square, Piazza del Popolo, and the surrounding streets.

This area is the heart of I Piani, offering a convenient base for exploring. You'll find a selection of high-quality hotels, boutique shops, and excellent restaurants within a short stroll. The Piazza del Popolo itself is a pleasant spot to enjoy a coffee or an aperitivo, with the historic Town Hall building overlooking it. The streets radiating from the square, such as Via Roma and Corso Umberto I, are where most of the activity is concentrated.

Couples looking for a refined and relaxing getaway will find this area particularly appealing. The proximity to fine dining establishments and elegant bars makes it great for evening strolls and enjoying the local cuisine. Many hotels in this central area also offer amenities like spa services or lovely rooftop terraces, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring.

For travellers planning to venture out on day trips to explore Sardinia's natural beauty or other towns, staying near the Piazza del Popolo also offers good access to local transport links.

The best time to go to I Piani is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from April to early June and again from September to October.

These months offer pleasant weather with warm temperatures but avoid the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months (July and August). You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural beauty of the area, including the beaches and hiking trails, is at its most enjoyable without the bustling atmosphere. It's a fantastic time for couples seeking a peaceful escape or families looking for a relaxing holiday before or after the school rush.

For those who enjoy a lively holiday, July and August are also excellent, albeit busier. During this period, I Piani comes alive with more activities, open beach clubs, and a greater selection of restaurants. The weather is consistently hot and sunny, superb for spending long days by the sea.
