Great location. Nice hotel. Our room had a little mildew/mould in the shower area with that mildew like smell, but was minimal. Safe and quiet as well neighbourhood, but still very walkable to the historic centre and all the restaurants and shops…only 5-10 minutes.

This hotel has a great location, just outside the old town of Alghero, close to shops and restaurants. The rooms are quite basic but clean and functional. Some rooms have a lovely sea view. The rooftop bar which doubles as a breakfast room is the best in Alghero with great views. I did not try the spa but I believe it is very nice.

The hotel is ok. It had pros & cons. The rooms are dated, but very clean. Staff was helpful & attentive. AC worked better in some rooms than others. We asked to change rooms because our initial room was directly underneath the breakfast room. It was impossible to rest after 6AM from the sound of moving furniture above us. But, the staff was accommodating & gave us a room with better AC & no noise. Rooms were spotless. Breakfast was disappointing. Many ultra-processed carbs & bad machine coffee. The spa was a nice place to retreat in the afternoons & we enjoyed the pool. However, I was not anticipating a charged every time I wanted to use the facilities, especially when the steam room does not work. It should be complimentary. The location was good. They have a garage 1 block way for parking available upon request for a fee. Overall, I expected more from this property & not sure I can fully recommend it.

Excellent stay

Great stay! Beautiful views of the historic part of Alghero while having coffee for breakfast. The check-in was simple and quick. The room was clean and cool, and the pillows were the best we slept on so far at our various stays in Sardinia hotels during this road trip.

Great location hotel

Good value and location is great lots of bars and restaurants around. The old town is walkable distance. The rooftop bar within the hotel is nice. The rooms are spacious but not so clean. The walls super thin, could hear people in other room talking and having shower.

Lovely location, close to the citadel and ports. Comfortable and clean room. Complimentary cocktails on 5th floor breakfast room/ bar with an exceptional view. Breakfast had variety and was substantial. Most of all, the concierge staff was helpful, attentive, and kind.

The hotel is a very short wslk from the Old Town with all its restaurants and other attractions. Our room on the 5th gloor had a wonderful view over the neighbouring buildings out to sea. The breakast was good. There was some building work going on in the hotel when we were there in esrly June but this did not disturb us.

A good hotel near the city center. The hotel is under the reconstruction, but it isn't problem. Very good breakfast, in the 5th floor, with beautiful view. You have to pay for the Spa, two people 50 euro per hour, I think, it's very expensive. We didn't try it. The staff is very kind and helpful

The hotel was very nice, the breakfast room and bar on the roof was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Families beware however, the swimming pool was not included and we were told it was 40euro each to have a swim which had to be booked. I read other reviews that said about hiring robes etc, which was a few euros so we expected that. As a couple wanting a spa retreat I guess 40eu isn't too bad for a relaxing afternoon, but not for the kids to have a bit of a swim.

We booked thinking this was 2 star but it’s definitely a 3 star hotel so we were pleasantly surprised. The ‘spa’ bit is €40/hr private hire and downstairs, no windows so we gave that a skip. The room with balcony and sea view was lovely with a fridge but no kettle. We didn’t partake in €12 pp breakfast. There is a bar/restaurant on 5th floor with sea views and an amazing astroturf roof terrace on 6th floor with lots of seating -again a really lovely surprise. All in all I couldn’t work out why the Trip advisor reviews were so bad, we had a lovely time!

La Margherita was a perfectly decent place to stay, but I left feeling it was a little overpriced for what it offers, although I appreciate that’s probably to be expected in July. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and everything worked as it should. The rooms and facilities are fairly basic and a little dated, so I’d say it’s a solid three-star hotel at best. The location is convenient for exploring Alghero, and if you’re simply looking for a clean, comfortable base, it does the job. Just don’t expect a luxury experience or anything particularly memorable.

The breakfast menu was buffet, with standards such as yogurt. There weren't any eggs, but there was cheese and ham. The staff was wonderful and answered all questions and gave great advice for restaurants. They also arranged a taxi to sasari. The only small disappointment was that there were no spa amenities included with the room. For example, in order to use a hot tub you had to rent it for an hour for 50 euros.
