Royal Orchid in Hyderabad

"Of all of the hotels we stayed at in three months in India, this was our least favourite. Upon arrival the lady on reception was brusque, the situation was not helped by a ghost transaction on my card which noted the hotel cost as debited but the lady was adamant it had not been received, this took a lot of time to resolve and four separate conversations. There was a wedding taking place and therefore the hotel was extremely busy, there were a number of very rude guests who started speaking to the reception staff when I was mid-conversation, obviously this was not the hotel’s fault. There were also plus points, the beds were very comfortable and the room service good. Mr Kumar who was at reception at 4am when we left for the airport was extremely helpful and apologetic in respect of the issues with payment, he also arranged a complimentary car to the airport. Overall, a mixed experience"

"Food was excellent. We loved the food prepared by Chef Srinivas Rao. He was very attentive and made our day. We had guests from US and Canada and they loved the food. Captain Srinivas service at the dining area was extraordinary. Looking forward to come back and taste the food prepared by Chef Srinivas Rao again "

"The hotel is situated very close to Husein Sagar (a lake with stale water). As soon as you step out, you can not avoid breathing in bad smell and polluted air. The breakfast was no good and very expensive. Not much choice or quality. Very little western choices. "
