River Etherow bridge The walkway of this bridge is constructed from old railway sleepers several of which are missing to give a view of the River Etherow below. It was once part of a footpath but it now deemed to be unsafe for public use although herds of cows use it to cross the river.
Broadbottom is a village, near Hyde, Greater Manchester in the valley of the River Etherow. From Mottram Road, Market Street by Gorsey Brow, looking under the south through railway arch towards Charlesworth. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the shower and bathroom facilities were exceptional. The only minor negative was that I could hear the building's air-con/heating system all night which was very loud. I did not mention it as I was only staying for one night

Tintwistle Low Moor is to the north of Longdendale, where the reserviors of the Longdendale Chain provide water for Manchester, and compensation water for the River Etherow. During the drought of 2010 Valehouse Reservoir was empty.
