About this property
Inn-at-the-Brownstone, only 3.3 miles to Hershey Park
This beautiful home is a rare find nestled on over an acre in the heart of Hummelstown Pa. Built in 1914 as a wedding gift to the Walton Family. The Hummelstown Brownstone Company closed in 1927, but this home was built and used to market the brownstone bricks from New York to Florida which many of the historic brownstone homes were created. Upon entering the front of the home, you will enjoy nine foot ceilings, pocket doors and original wood work. In the mornings enjoy coffee on the stone patio off the front room and watch the birds collecting berries from the trees. After a long day at Hershey Park or touring the battlefields at Gettysburg, enjoy the BBQ grill on the brownstone patio. Finish off the evening roasting marshmallows with the firepit and a cold beer. This beautiful home boast hardwood floors throughout with five bedrooms and two and half baths. It is a historic home and the one full bath is located on the first floor, but will allow extra room for you to get ready and start your day exploring. On the second floor is an additional family room, perfect for the kids to watch a movie or play a game of cards. One of our favorite features is close proximity to everything! Walking distance to shops and restaurants. We are minutes from Hershey Park, Hershey Medical Center, 30 min from Gettysburg and Lancaster. If you want to go to Baltimore for the day it is an easy drive. The location is perfect for day trips if you want to stay longer and take a few day trips.

Very interesting property with lots of doors and plenty of space. AC worked great (which for a house this big isn't always the case), the little covered patio room thing was also nice too. Perfect place to stay for our weekend going to Hershey Park.
Great location and HUGE house that accommodated my daughter, her boyfriend and her four children. Everyone had their own space. The Kitchen had everything it needed and the place was clean.
This house was huge and so comfortable for our group! Lots of good living spaces and very clean. Gorgeous old house with lots of character. The only thing I would have wanted is another bathroom upstairs.
Beautiful historic house! It was a lovely place to gather with friends. I would recommend upgrading or repairing the gas stoves and replacing twin matttress and beds for future guests. If you don’t mind lighting a gas stove with a match or squeaky springs
Great property, so much character and even more room! Everyone had enough space to get ready in the morning, the second living room upstairs was great for hanging out and chatting. There was plenty of space in the yard to play games, and the patio was great for hanging out after a long day at Hershey Park.
Property was very well appointed. Biggest drawback was the bathroom situation. With 5 women, sharing the bathrooms was not ideal, especially challenging with the one small bathroom being on the first floor (no bathroom on 3rd floor for those sleeping on 3rd floor.) Otherwise, the property is easy to access, and close to sightseeing.
Lovely historic home with equally lovely owners! Our family enjoyed the property and would definitely go back again. Parking aplenty for 5-6 cars, and we had family in Hershey come over for xmas dinner, game and movie nights. We used all 5 bedrooms for the 8 of us and found the 2 shower situation was no problem at all...note the bedrooms are on 2nd and 3rd floors, but showers are in1st and 2nd fl baths. Getting upstairs could be a challenge for some, but the cousins stayed on top floor and had a ball! Beautiful property!!
We had a wonderful stay at the Inn at the Brownstone! It was a perfect home and location for our extended family of 9 to gather over the holidays. When we checked in we had a small matter of no linens on the beds. I messaged our host who was SO apologetic (miscommunication with cleaning crew) and went above and beyond in caring for us! The house is so beautiful, even more beautiful than the listing photos! So charming and comfortable! It was lovely to have a home for all of us to gather, share meals, play games and go to Hershey Park. I would 100% recommend and visit again!
This property was perfect for our small family reunion (7 adults and a 3 year old). It is a lovely house (air conditioned!) with a number of spaces to read and talk and hang out both inside the house, on an enclosed porch and on outside porches. We were able to cook our meals and eat in the dining room, walk over to the local diner (***) and wander up the street to a terrific ice cream place. We played soccer and frisbee in the large side yard. We aren't into amusement parks and had a little kid but there are other interesting places nearby including the Hershey Chocolate Factory (yum!) and the Echo Dell Indian Echo Caverns (fascinating underground caves where it is 52 degrees all year round). We all agreed that we would recommend the Inn wholeheartedly.
Wanted to take our son and family to Hershey Park. We wanted a house with at least 5 bedrooms and multiple baths and this was perfect! Hope to definitely return someday.
House was perfect for three couples and three children. The 9 and 11 year old each had their own room on the third floor. The baby slept in a pack and play in the kitchenette opposite her parents room.
Host was welcoming and came over on Christmas Eve day to help with the TV. The house is spacious, and beautiful with all of the wood built ins and beams. Several lights were missing light bulbs that worked. We had to ask for more silverware and glasses as there was not enough for the seven of us. The host did bring over extra silverware on Christmas Eve and dropped off a box of new glasses the day after Christmas. Even with the couple of missing things we had a wonderful time. The house is located close to a lot of amenities. We would come back again.
We really enjoyed the warmth of the home, it’s location and its cleanliness. There’s plenty to do in the area and walkable to shops and restaurants. Jodi was great when I had questions and needed answers. The only improvement would be to have a small washer and dryer.
We all gathered to enjoy our son's wedding at Hershey!! This house was a perfect location!!
Was a busy 3 days and was nice to get back to the house to unwind, sit on th front porch w our wine and talk about each days events!! The bedrooms were quiet and we all got a goodnights rest on th most comfortable beds!!
Thankyou for having us at this lovely home!! Will definitely be back!!
House was old, beautiful features. There were ample bedrooms to accommodate our family, however the main floor shower was very small, very small. Because of how old the house was, every floor and the 2nd floor shower creaked so much! Most of the t.v.s did not work during our stay, which was ok because we were not at the house often. Easy access to Hershey Park. Beautiful yard, washer dryer was great to have. I would stay there again.
The property owner was wonderful. Very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The property is lovely. The house is old but huge. Easy drive to all things Hershey. Don’t miss the restaurant at the Warwick Hotel. It’s in walking distance. Had a great time with 3 generations for a 3 year old birthday.
We were staying near Hershey to visit the zoo and some breweries in the area. This house has plenty of rooms for all the guests and plenty of space for lounging and hanging out. When we first pulled up, I thought it was not the right house because it looked so grand with the porch lights blazing. It seemed like a mini-mansion with a large driveway and fancy garden. Inside it was even more charming with "secret passages" and some antique accents and fixtures. A few of the rooms are a bit short on modern electric outlets but I loved the old fashioned light switches and radiators. When in the area again, I would love to stay here again!
Spacious, historic accommodations for our family group
We enjoyed our time at this property. It was comfortable for our multigenerational group. The property is charming with lots of interesting nooks. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare simple meals and we sat comfortably around the dining room table and enjoyed a movie in the living room. We walked to a great diner just around the corner one day. It was too cold to fully enjoy the large yard, but there would have been plenty of space to toss a football, etc.
Wonderful home, I owned and restored a home built in 1919 so it was like visiting an old friend staying at this magnificent place, the grounds are amazing, trees are grand and beautiful, birds chirping in the morning, fireflies dancing at dusk, I mean what else could you ask for. My 83 year old parents were with us and I was worried with the bedrooms being on the second floor but they handled it like champs! If you appreciate vintage architecture you will love this home. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in town.
We stayed for a week while our daughters competed in the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg. The home was perfect with 5 different bedrooms — plenty of rooms to relax and hang out (enclosed porch was our favorite!) and great for everyone to retreat to their respective bedrooms too. Quiet neighborhood. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Perfect also if you are wanting to go to Hershey park. Would absolutely come back! Host was responsive to all of our needs/questions — albeit we really didn’t need to connect while there because everything was as advertised! Sara
