The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't halted our desire to explore. Here are some tips on how to cope with travel's new challenges:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as mandatory quarantining.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA employee.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag to be screened.
• Place any personal items (like your phone and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to touch and inspect your belongings.
