The A-frame is thoughtfully laid out for comfort and simplicity:

- Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and cookware

- Heating and air conditioning for year-round comfort

- Fresh linens and essential supplies provided



Outdoor Space:

- Private deck with river views

- BBQ grill for easy outdoor meals

- Free parking right outside the cabin



Access & Safety:

- Private entrance with keyless 4-digit code

- Smoke & carbon monoxide detectors

- Fire extinguisher and hot water



Check-in is at 3:00 PM, check-out at 11:00 AM.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive access to the entire A-frame cabin, including the deck and BBQ grill. Free parking is available on-site, and entry is via a private keyless code provided before arrival.



The seasonal bar & grill on the property is open on select days and is a favorite gathering spot for guests and locals alike.

Dark Sky River Lodge sits along the Arkansas River in Howard—a quiet stretch of the valley perfectly positioned between outdoor adventure and small-town charm.

- Easy drive to Salida for dining, shopping, and galleries

- Close to hiking, biking, and scenic drives through the Collegiate Peaks

- Peaceful evenings, dark skies, and the sound of the river nearby



It’s an ideal spot if you want space to breathe without being far from everything else.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended to make the most of the area. Parking is free and located directly next to the cabin.



For guests flying in, Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Rental cars are available at the airport for a scenic drive into the valley.



Other Things to Note:

- Quiet hours are 9 PM – 8 AM

- This is a non-smoking cabin

- AT&T provides the most reliable cell service in the area

- StarLink Wi-Fi is available, but this is a rural mountain property

- Seasonal bar & grill on-site (hours vary)
