PET FRIENDLY COTTAGE 3.5 MILES FROM LAKE MOOMAW!

SWITZERLAND TRAIL RETREAT is just that - a wonderful retreat just 3.5 miles from Lake Moomaw! This lovely ranch home is fresh and almost brand new after a complete remodel with new furnishings, floors, windows, HVAC and paint throughout. The cozy home has a deep front porch overlooking a peaceful valley. The living room has a beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace and a large stack of firewood is provided for the fireplace or outdoor fire pit! The eat-in kitchen is well appointed and includes everything needed for preparing your own meals.

There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have queen size beds with brand new furniture and premium, comfy mattresses. The third bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and twin on top! There is one full bathroom with a brand new tub/shower combo.

The home's HVAC system is state of the art and includes an ultra violet light filter that kills all viruses including COVID. There is a new UV water filtration system as well.

The cottage is located 2 miles down a well-maintained gravel country road, only traveled by the people who live there. Enjoy complete peace and quiet at this cozy cottage - a tranquil, pastoral setting by day and amazing dark skies by night. Your furry friends are welcome here (dogs only please and no more than 2. $75 pet fee applies). They too will love hanging out on the front porch that is gated or curling up with you at the fire pit!

If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place! If you are looking for the ultimate year-round outdoor adventure location - this is also the place - just 5 miles from The Omni Homestead Resort known for its world-class golf courses, 3.5 miles from Lake Moomaw for fantastic boating, fishing and hiking, and less than 1 hour to Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and more!

Had lady bugs and flies in the building....the scent was horrible.....hard to find even with directions provided. Booked it for 2 nights but just stayed one night!!! Will never stay here again!!!

Enjoyed sitting on the front porch looking at the cows and waking up in the morning with deer in the backyard. There is a long drive to town so you might want to get your supplies ahead of time so you can enjoy your time without interruption. If you enjoy cooking the kitchen has extremely basic cooking utensils, pots, pans, knives etc. There is no range hood in the kitchen & no dishwasher. The only light in the kitchen is the ceiling fan light & it is very dim & needs to be upgraded to a daylight led. The porch light didn't appear to be working or needed a bulb. The is no exhaust fan in the bathroom to remove odors or steam from the shower.

Amazing secluded home
This was the best VRBO we have stayed in. It is down a long (2 mile) gravel road and there are almost no other houses. Across the road from the house are cows and always in the yard every time you come or go or look out the window are deer. There is an amazing fire pit we enjoyed tremendously every evening. The home was very clean and everything you need for a get away (good movie selection). If going to Hot Springs again, we will definitely be staying here.

Lovely place for a family gathering
This house was a perfect place for our three families to gather. It had relatively close access to Moomaw which was great for swimming and kayaking. The gravel roads leading to the lake can take longer if you drive slowly. The house had a nice big porch with rocking chairs. Beth was great to work with. She very quick to respond to all of my questions and helped make our stay very easy. There was some cell service in the front yard, but we enjoyed being more unplugged. We also enjoyed the apple tree in the yard. And seeing many fawns come into the yard. We would love to return in the future.
