"There is a larger cabana in front of this one but you can still see the beach from the porch. Staff keeps the cabana and beach clean. This cabana is located right in the heart of the village so it isn't the most peaceful all of the time but my husband and I didn't mind the noise it made us feel more integrated into the culture."

"Umaya is a beautiful resort with everything we needed. Bedrooms, full kitchen, large living room and could walk right out to the beach. They had a lovely pool with swim up bar and a nice restaurant across the street. It was close to restaurants and bars but we did need to drive to them as the road is busy and no sidewalks. Would stay here again."

"The manager was helpful and friendly. The place was spotless and comfortable. The manager kept the buildings, courtyard with hammocks, grill area and even the beautiful bougainvillea trees in great shape. Walk across the street to the beach and to nearby restaurants. Only thing missiing was a pool. "

"Oceanfront house with lots of amenities! Great for two couples as both bedrooms have a bathroom. We especially enjoyed the windows porch and outdoor patio. We appreciated having bikes, too, and a full sized washer and dryer. Janette, the property manager, was very helpful with ideas on things to do"

"The penthouse was an excellent option for our family- the well apportioned kitchen was great as we did get tired of overpriced resort food. In general this was a perfectly good beach resort in a pretty quiet corner of Belize. The excursions were excellent and well staffed. We loved that they did toasted marshmallows on the beach at sunset and the diving platform was a hoot. The staff was very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help us sort out travel plans etc. if you stay here I recommend you be brave and look around Hopkins for places to eat- the hotel offers bikes for a few dollars and it is a sleepy enough town that this is a reasonable way to get around, and you’ll find the local food super tasty. In general a very reasonably priced place that does a good job. "

"We stayed for 2 nights in the Pink Flamingo. The cabana was very clean and comfortable. The shower uses an on-demand water heater which worked well. The a/c took a bit of time to cool the unit but not too long. Plenty of power outlets. The neighborhood dogs and cats were friendly and unobtrusive. Arlene, the hostess, was very friendly and accommodating. No beach view but access takes less than a minute. No problem with parking and you are very close to the cabana front door. If you want a cabana that serves as a place to provide quiet indoor comfort and relaxing sleep, this is it."

"Great view of the ocean (including sunrises) from bed and balcony. Toucan room has a large seating area. Restaurant is very good. The only suggestion would be to put in some softer floor or table lighting; the lights were too bright. "
