"Part of the hotel is newly opened in a newly renovated adjoining building. I never
stayed there. I have stayed in the old building. It has a pub open every day.
A large beer selection on tap and the selection of food is well prepared.
The rooms are very different (different sizes mainly, which can be selected in
expedia when reserving. Most furniture is old-style, like the rooms,
(not modern) but gives
a nice "atmosphere". Beds new and comfortable.
A very few rooms are special with micro and fridge, best
to ask hotel directly for those rooms if needed. Also at least one room has
a very nice sauna. Bathrooms I have seen/used are quite new and modern all tiled.
Location is excellent 200m from railway station (no noise from trains),
next to many restaurants and the small center of town and some university
buildings, and several museums
are within walking distance others reachable by tram (100m away, pay by credit card).
Tram line is recently opened just to provide access to University and some very
big international science complexes north of town center."
"I am writing to formally complain about my recent stay at Hotel Lundia. Having stayed here four times previously with good experiences, I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of follow-up regarding my issues has been incredibly frustrating.
Checking in late, I found the reception unmanned. The light switches in my room were completely broken, meaning I could not turn off the main lights or turn on the bathroom light. It looked like a long-standing maintenance issue.
Seeking help, I faced a complete failure in communication:
⬤ A card in the room listed a number that only led to voicemail.
⬤ The number on the website went nowhere.
⬤ The number in the lift led to an answering machine.
Eventually, I found a phone at reception and spoke to a helpful staff member, but no one could come to fix it. I spent an hour trying to resolve this, ultimately having to remove the light bulb myself just to sleep.
The subsequent customer service was worse. The night staff member implied I would get a refund, though he later denied this. There was no proactive follow-up from management. I later received a review request; instead of leaving a public complaint, I sent a private message detailing the issue, which was completely ignored. When I emailed the staff member again, he corrected my memory regarding the refund but offered no apology or compensation.
I have reached out via three different methods and received zero meaningful response. I am deeply disappointed by this treatment."
"As Lord of the Ring fans, we were excited to start our trip to Sweden in this unique “cave” or “hobbit hole”. We were very disappointed. First, when we booked the room it said towels were not included. A few days after our opportunity to cancel without penalty, they sent an updated policy to state they would not include linens or towels. Then when we arrived a few minutes before check in should have begun, the man was closing up for the day! If we had not been early, we would have not known how to check in. The room was dirty. We had to clean it to be able to use it as it was infested with spiders. On top of all of that, the man told us we had to pay for mini golf immediately since he was closing up. We did pay, but later found the golf clubs and balls were left out for free for everyone else. On top of all of this, if you choose to use the TV, you must chrome cast it from your own device. There were a lot of “rules” and expectations yet the place did not live up to the ones they expected from their guests."
"The lockers in spa were broken, the toilet flush in the spa didn't work and the toilet was full of poo. It was not possible to use the soap and schampo pumps in the shower."
