Great 2 weeks right on the lake. Boating and fishing with grandkids. All of us loved the house and the all the surrounding restaurants and entertainments.

Great quiet spot
Nicely renovated house near the town of Holderness. Walk to town for meals at Walters or grab an ice cream.
The place was great. The lake was great. The kayaks were great. I wish we had never left

Great place on a beautiful lake!
Lot's of sleeping room for guests. Great as a home base for outdoors activities. Less room for hanging in front of the tv or reading, but we were there during the winter when the porch and front yard was was out of commission. Interior is new and very clean. :)

Fabulous!
What a wonderful house on Squam Lake. Literally right on the water - parents of littles should keep this in mind for safety reasons. The home is spotless. Walking distance to the Nature Center and shopping/boat rental area. We look forward to returning.
My family and I stayed here for a quick getaway. The location is great, close to many hiking trails and walking distance to restaurants and convenience stores, which have amazing sandwiches and coffee. The views from the lake house are amazing! I loved waking up and having my morning coffee out by the lake. The house was very clean and remodeled. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and I tried paddleboarding for the first time. My sons loved fishing off the dock and swimming in the lake. It was great to get away and relax, we really enjoyed our stay here.
We absolutely loved our stay at this lakefront cabin. The location was wonderful and allowed the kids to play in the water all day with lake-side fires and smores each night. The paddle boards and kayaks were a real plus as well (we were sad we didn't have enough wind to use the sailboat). We rented a pontoon boat from Holderness Harbor, which is a 2-3 minute drive) and spent an incredible day on the lake with pit stops at the house from the boat for the kids. Couldn't have asked for more.

Great vacation week on Squam Lake and excellent fishing too!
We really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was very well maintained and located right on the waterfront. There was plenty of dock space with two docks and the waterfront was great for wading or swimming with stairs that lead right into the water. This is a very convenient location to the small, quaint downtown area and we walked there most mornings for coffee and exceptionally good breakfast sandwiches. Marinas are very close so boat rental was a breeze. Bass fishing was exceptional and this is an absolutely beautiful lake with many large bays. The owner (Jeffrey) was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. Would certainly recommend this as a nice "getaway".

Spacious Just enough modern conveniences but still charming so you felt you were at a lake house . The hardwood floors throughout were great everyone loved their beds .We were able to have cookout every night which enabled us to enjoy the splendor of the lake A real charm can't wait to come back. Also loved that we could walk to the general store and museum all an extra plus !

Great week on Squam!
We really enjoyed our time on Squam Lake this year in this perfectly situated cottage. We have been going to Squam for 8 years and this cottage gave us everything we could ask for. Steps to the water, a view looking right down Big Squam and it was just redone inside. Waking up in the morning and having our coffee on the edge of the lake is a great way to start the day. Judy made it easy to rent the cottage and everything was as it was stated. We will return!

Magical
As overseas visitors, we were a bit nervous that the lake and house wouldn't live up to expectations (and there was the "On Golden Pond" pilgramage element too!). But from the moment we arrived and saw the steps down into the lake, we fell in love. The children spent most of the time in the kayaks, swimming or reading in the swing chair. I spent a fair bit of time toasting myself on the swimming platform, and my husband gave us plenty of video material with his paddle board attempts. We also went to the White Mountains and did the Rattlesnake walk.
The house is comfortable and very well equipped and you are in easy access of the town (and I was delighted that I was able to source my essential daily cappuccino). As another reviewer has said, the owners were very helpful and responsive.
Will always remember the magical still mornings, especially the one when I had the pleasure of being joined by two loons during my swim.

BEST OF LAKE AND TOWN
My husband and I stayed at this lovely Squam Lake home
the third week of July, 2014. We were delighted with everything.
This vacation home has it all: brand new interior, super waterfront
for swimming and boating, and easy access close to town.
We’ve stayed at many lakeside homes before, and this was by far the best.
We enjoyed the new windows, easy internet access, and flat screen tv.
What a pleasure to walk on new flooring instead of musty old carpet. The living room, kitchen, dining room and downstairs bedrooms worked well for us. The lake view from the porch toward the mountains is splendid, and we had our meals out there. The delightful upstairs loft is enormous, and could easily accommodate another couple and/or lots of kids.
The home is waterfront; just a skip out the door and you’re on the lake.
I love to swim, and I appreciated the clean, easy access into the water.
It was fun having the swim raft as a destination. The lake toys were as
promised, and I paddle-boarded for the first time. The aluminum canoe was
perfect for us – we left our own canoe on top of our car the whole time we
were there! Our biggest adventure was paddling out to Moon and Bowman islands. The home has everything you need for safe, fun water play and sports.
Finally, the location of the home is superlative. The well-maintained access road
is just a minute out of town, yet that minute takes you away from the main road.
The result is an amazingly quiet yet convenient setting. I’ve rented other houses on Squam Lake where the access road was so bad that we hesitated to go to town or do other touring.
From this Squam Lake home we could drive or walk to town as the spirit moved us. The Squam Lakes Science Center is two minute’s walk away, and is a wonderful resource with trails, exhibits, and boat rides. One evening we walked across to the Science Center and arrived just in time for a ranger presentation about lynx in New Hampshire. The town library runs programs for children 4-5 days per week. This well-placed home allowed us to do simple things like go out to breakfast in Meredith, and to also explore farther afield. We went to the White Mountains where we hiked the Flume Gorge trail, and took the cable car ride up Copper Mountain.
The owners of the home were courteous and responsive; payments and communications went according to plan. Plan your trip to this Squam Lake home with confidence. We would go back in a heartbeat.
