Bob was very kind man. The property has a wonderful view. Landscaping beautiful. Could be charming with updates! Now it’s best described as “your great-great aunt’s old home”. Old stained & musty smelling furnishings. Stained carpet. Wallpaper wearing off. Only one bed usable. Queen Bed in 2nd room so stiff and uncomfortable it was not usable. AC units had lots of grime on vents, as did bathroom mirror. Shower didn’t work, shower curtain liner orange with scum. Sofa air bed terribly stained & smelled. Bedrooms upstairs, only bathroom downstairs thru the kitchen. We found alternate lodging for my son, DIL and 2yr old grandson. We were told to bring our own sheets, towels, soap, kitchen soap, paper towels & trash bags. Previous guest left 3 pair women’s underwear in drawer. If DEEP CLEANED, new furnishings, beds, bedding, towels & kitchen supplies provided it could be VERY charming and worth the money.
The property was lovely. The setting was serene and private. And the beach was perfect. Bob was very hospitable! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Bob!!
The house was as advertised and part of a compound on the lake with shared beach access. It is more of a camp/lodge feel in terms of older style home and furnishings but clean and comfortable. Bob was very accommodating and communicative. Pet friendly. The house is in a convenient location, very close to Weirs beach, Laconia, and Gunstock. Must bring own linens, towels, and kitchen/bath supplies. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
We loved our stay at Nipmuc Lodge and look forward to returning next year! We were just steps from the water, and the house had everything we needed for our vacation week. We kept the AC off and the windows up to enjoy the fresh air and lake sounds - absolutely beautiful!
The kitchen is large enough for a few people to move around, and the living room has plenty of comfortable seating. The master BR has plenty of room, a tall bureau, and a large closet for storage. The front porch has screens for enjoying the fresh air, but we also brought beach chairs for sitting on the grass to enjoy the views.
The location of the house is at the end of a dead end road and in a quiet cove for perfect relaxation. It is also very centrally located, so that we could easily get to Meredith, Laconia, and Alton, and there is also a nearby Walmart for picking up any items you need.
Bob greeted us as we arrived and was available for questions as we settled in. He is a very experienced property owner, which means that house was very clean and the entire property is well maintained. Bob, thank you for your hospitality!
We had a fantastic time a little piece of paradise!
It was the most relaxing and quiet vacation that we have ever experienced. We barely left the property. We had our own private beach 🏖️, easy access to dropping our kayaks in the water and floating around in the water on our loungers for hours. We met some of the nicest people who were also staying in the other rentals next to us. If you do leave the property everything you would need is a very short drive. We loved our stay!❤️
Bob was great to deal with, check in was easy. My favorite part was the porch...you are right on the lake in a quiet cove. We had access to a small beach area with chairs, which was nice on a warm fall afternoon. We also enjoyed walking to the Lyon's Den. Cottage was clean and functional. The location on the cove was really nice and quiet.
Our family of four had a great time staying at Bob’s. The location is great! About 10 minutes from Gunstock and a great public outdoor ice skating rink. We had a grand time
We had a wonderful stay at Smith Cove. Everything was very clean, and the kitchen was great for us as we did lots of cooking. Short drive to some hikes and to Gunstock, which we enjoyed. Bob was fantastic, very attentive and helpful, I'm sure the rental is fantastic in the summer, but we have a lovely quiet weekend for NYE!
Four of us stayed in a small cottage right on a cove of Lake Winnipesaukee with our pets. The cottage had two bedrooms up stairs both with queen beds. One room was fairly large with lots of closet space and the other was small with just a dresser. The downstairs had an eat in kitchen, bathroom, living room, and a nice screened in porch. In the downstairs was a sleeper sofa, so I believe you could have 6 people in the cottage, we had 4 adults. The porch was my favorite part of the cottage. You are right on the lake (in a small cove) and can sit on the sunny porch with your favorite beverage and watch the boats coming and going from the main part of the lake.
The properly has access to a small beach (with chairs) and you can walk to the Lyons Den a decent restaurant that has water views. We brought a kayak and used it almost every day. Fay's boat yard is also in the same cove and you can rent boats from them. We didn't but if I would next time I come.
Overall the cottage is maintained to be easily cleaned and functional with low pile rugs upstairs, vinyl plank flooring in the living room. The kitchen and bathroom were dated, but the eat in space seats 5 and was cute.
Our family had a great time staying in Nipmuc Lodge.
The cabin was very comfortable and the fact that I could keep our boat at a dock near to the cabin was a big plus.
Bob was very accommodating from the start and throughout our stay.
Thank you Bob!
We enjoyed our week at the Inn at Smith Cove. It is a beautiful property and the owner Bob was very cordial. We rented for the week of July 4th. It was busy with boat and air traffic on the 4th as expected on the big lake. My husband and I rowed our kayaks morning and night to see the loon family in the cove. Mom, Dad and two 2 week old chicks. The kids enjoyed jumping off the dock and taking our paddle board out with friends. The Nipmuc cottage was just enough space for our family of 5 and a few friends. Dogs do not have access to the private beach so we walked her over to the marina for a night time dip. WiFi was limited but it was nice to disconnect and stronger signal on the Inn’s porch, if needed. Our neighboring cottages were very friendly. The food at the Lyons Den was delicious. Thanks for a great week Bob!
A little piece of heaven! The house, property and location was amazing! I cannot say enough about Bob and how wonderful and friendly he is and it is obvious he loves his home and property! The other families around us were great! We definitely want to come back!
Our first family trip to Lake Winnipesaukee was very enjoyable! The lake house had a great location and had everything you would need . Close to Weirs Beach and other beautiful beaches and attractions. The private beach was perfect for our grandkids and after supper dips. It was a very quiet and relaxing spot. The owner was very nice and accommodating. We would recommend this to others. This lake is well worth the trip!
