"The Standard exceeded our expectations! It’s a great escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC, located right near green spaces like the High Line and Little Island. While we weren’t interested in the nearby high-end retail, Greenwich Village was just a short walk away with lots of dining options. The rooms are small and definitely geared just for sleeping, but the dining room on ground floor provided a great space to relax or work. If you're there before 7 AM you can take advantage of the free coffee cart. This area and the adjoining Biergarten were fun, affordable spots for our family. Plus, the location felt safe and convenient enough for our 10-year-old daughter to autonomously walk between our room and the restaurant on her own. For this purpose, the Standard was perfect."

"The room was initially clean but they did not clean our room the next day, when we returned at 9:30 PM to find bed unmade and bathroom dirty we complained but at that time of day we didn't want it taken care of. Being on the first floor it was noisy outside and it took a long time for hot water to become hot. Room was a good size for NY hotel and the back courtyard was cute. GREAT location"

"Good people, this is a budget-friendly hotel in a great location. I got food poisoning while I was in town so ended up being in my room for way more time than I was planning. The hotel cat paid me a visit in my deepest misery, and for this I am eternally grateful. Pros: location, price, cat, nice staff, store bags at check out Cons: no elevator, noise travels, rundown look (paint touch ups in the right colors and some new towel bars and hooks would do wonders), inconsistent wifi"
