Hobart’s eastern shore is anchored by this lovely waterfront suburb, which has a picturesque marina, sandy beaches, mountain views and a popular sports arena.

Explore the historic streets of Bellerive, a pretty neighbourhood located across the Derwent River from downtown Hobart. With its extensive riverfront views that overlook the city with a backdrop of Kunanyi/Mount Wellington, Bellerive is a photographer’s delight. Check out the marina and go for a stroll along the beach. Watch a football match and discover Hobart’s 19th-century fortifications.

Bellerive Marina and the area around the quay have a charming village feel. Stroll along the Bellerive Boardwalk and admire the watercraft at the historic Bellerive Yacht Club. Take photographs of Hobart’s magnificent mountain through a trellis of yacht masts. Go on a self-guided walking tour around Bellerive’s historic village and find a collection of 17 heritage houses and buildings, such as the Police Station and Watch House, St. Mark’s Chapel and the old Bellerive Post Office. You’ll see beautiful old homes and sandstone structures.

Visit Bellerive’s Main Beach, which has a riverfront strip of golden sand. Nearby you’ll find the Kangaroo Bluff Fort Historic Site, which dates back to the 1880s. The site has a battery of old cannons and some pretty picnic areas.

Don’t miss the chance to see an Australian Rules Football match at Blundstone Arena, formerly known as Bellerive Oval. Summer brings a host of international cricket events to the arena.

Discover the local culinary scene in Bellerive village, where you’ll find a selection of great restaurants, cafés, pubs and bakeries. Visit in October to experience the annual Seafarers’ Festival or in February for the Clarence Jazz Festival, both hosted at the Bellerive Boardwalk.

Bellerive is located on Hobart’s eastern shore and is easily accessible via the Tasman Bridge. Drive, catch a local bus or make use of the commuter ferries that arrive to Bellerive Quay. These water taxis provide easy access to Hobart Wharf, Wrest Point Casino and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Stay in waterfront accommodation in Bellerive and have the historic village precinct on your doorstep.

Basically the room was clean and well maintained, and getting a supermarket takes only one minute walk from the apartment. Only one thing my flight was delayed and checked in almost midnight It was dark and hard to open the box to get a key.

Overall, I had a great stay. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that on the second last day, housekeeping left my door wide open after cleaning my room. Aside from that, everything was satisfactory.
