  • Welcome to Hinton Mountain House! Your oasis after a full day of adventure. Kick your feet up and relax or play a game of pool.

    Bright and comfortable basement suite. Enjoy your own entrance, private backyard and parking. Cozy home includes heated floors with electric fireplace. Suite offers a pool table with everything you need to play some games. Games in closet are also available for play. Kitchenette has dishes, utensils, cookware, coffee, tea, rice cooker and panini maker. Travel crib available. Dog bed and pet dishes available, please let us know if your furry friend will be joining you on your visit. Outside yard includes a fire table, chairs, patio and swing.

    Located 45 minutes away from the town of Jasper, 15 minutes from the Jasper gates.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this property. On arrival, there was an extremely strong and persistent smell of cannabis throughout the property, making it completely unsuitable for us to stay in. The only window available was directly below the deck of the property above, where cannabis was also being smoked, so there was no practical way to ventilate the property or escape the smell. We raised this immediately with the host, but they were unhelpful, refused to acknowledge the problem and offered no meaningful solution other than suggesting a cleaner, despite the property having already been cleaned before our arrival. We ultimately chose to sleep in our car rather than stay in the property, as hotels nearby were fully booked. Despite explaining the situation and making every effort to resolve it, the host refused to provide a refund. We understand cannabis is legal in parts of Canada, but guests should still be able to expect a clean, comfortable property free from persistent and overwhelming odours. There was no mention of cannabis or potential odours in the listing, which would have been important to know before booking. We stayed in numerous properties across Canada and this was the only one where we experienced this issue. It is a shame, as the property itself was nicely furnished and looked lovely, but the constant smell and the host’s handling of our concerns made the stay completely unacceptable.

BEWARE OF MISREPRESENTATION: This is not a 3 bedroom. It’s a 1 bedroom w/ 1 bed and two beds in the living room. Previous review mentioned the same thing and host did not fix it according to vrbo support

While this was a great little place for an overnight stay or two the listing was not accurate. It is listed as a 3 bedroom. It is only a 1 bedroom with a studio like set up for the other beds and futon.
