"The lodge is a wonderful, quiet place to stay while visiting Volcanoes National Park. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and absolutely spotless. The beds are comfortable and the location is very quiet and peaceful. Hot tub available but we didn't use. Welcome was warm. Lounge outside the room provided space to meet other guests and chat in front of warming fire. Highly recoomend if you are visiting VNP."

"Convenient to national park. Clean and Quiet location. More of a bed and breakfast style set up. Drive slow entering the property, can get bumpy. Ignore the purple key pad at entrance door, use e-keypad on door. Breakfast is granola bars and packaged pastries as stated. There is a breakfast and lunch deli just around the corner called lighthouse. "

"Lazy Lehua is about as wonderful as a "cottage" can be. While technically just one (very large upstairs master) bedroom, it is incredibly open and spacious, featuring three(!) spacious lanais, a breakfast bar, a nice living room area and downstairs bunk beds large and comfortable enough for most adults. The upstairs jacuzzi bath is a highlight too, and the downstairs tiled shower is spacious and accessible. We cook a lot when we stay in Volcano and the kitchen was very functional with all the appliances, utensils and gadgets we needed. There is gorgeous local woods everywhere: benches, counters, exteriors, tables... this is a classic "volcano" house in every respect. The managers checked up on us regularly as Kīlauea erupted and during the Kona low that followed. And given Volcano IS rainy, a bit remote and cool at night, you will love the little gas fireplaces on each level to perfectly take off the chill and add to the Volcano vibe. Furnishings are clean and well matched to the house; bed was VERY comfy and soft; on-site laundry new, clean and easy to use. And lastly, THIS is the sort of "yard" a Volcano house should have: a solid mass of ohi'a trees, tree ferns and lovely plantings in all directions. We will stay again! The high rating is well deserved, though we do have two suggestions: a combination lock cabinet with emergency supplies (LED lanterns, flashlight, water, ponchos etc.) and perhaps a small grill or electric grill. Still, a perfect rating!"

"Parking is tight. There was only three vehicles when we arrived but if there was four it would be tight especially if you have a bigger vehicle. We stayed in one of the rooms behind. It is simple and enough if you are staying one or two days short term. Very close to Volcano national park"

"This property was one of the most comfortable and visually stunning places we have stayed. The house had plenty of space, great antique furniture, numerous places to sit and read, comfortable beds, and great porches that looked out on a beautiful setting of tree ferns and 'O'hia trees. Especially stunning were the Jack Jefferies photos of birds. (We are bird people and know folks to know Jack well.) The location was perfect for us, next to the national park and near the town of Volcano. Hilo is not that far away for food and restaurants. (We did not want to be in Kona!) Several other pluses: plenty of towels, a hot tub, a grill, and an extra clean house. "
