FANTASTIC HOUSE with lots of amenities and Excellent reviews

    This mountain cabin is the perfect place for your great outdoors experience, for a romantic getaway, or for a much deserved respite! You will find that this house has everything that you will need: a fully equipped kitchen, two dining areas, a fireplace, screened porch, large outside deck with propane fire pit, all nestled on approx. one acre on a secluded cul-de-sac.

    When you are enjoying your time on one of the great decks (there are 3 in all and the screened porch) you will be listening to the waterfall located at the bottom of the property. It is a steep descent to view the waterfall-but worth the experience.

    The parking area is right outside the front door.

    Guests can enjoy fishing located one block away on Hogback Lake. For guests who desire an active stay, our Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Sapphire Valley amenities* offer: tennis, pickleball, mountaineer putt-putt golf, two heated pools, outdoor pool, hot tubs, sauna, game room, fitness room, jogging track, ski/tubing area (winter months), and we have a canoe for your pleasure on scenic Fairfield Lake. Pontoon rentals are close by on beautiful Lake Glenville during the summer months.

    Most Summer/Fall guests agree that the "Best Room in the House" is actually the screened in back porch. The comfortable sofa and chairs invite you to sit and enjoy a beautiful view of Hogback Mountain!

    *With this rental, adult guests (children under 14 are free) can purchase a guest pass for $5/ day. The pass allows a guest to have access to all of the amenities at Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Sapphire Valley.

Perfect Miuntain Spot!

This was a great stay for our family! We were here dropping our daughter at camp. Our dog loved the location as well! Owners are wonderful and quickly respond. We highly recommend this house for a peaceful and convenient stay.

Best Mountain Weekend Stay

We loved our weekend stay when we dropped our girls off at camp. It was so peaceful, clean, and beautiful! Our favorite spot to sit and relax was the screened in porch. Our dog was welcome and loved relaxing at the house and taking walks around the neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again!

Perfect Mountain Stay

This cabin is located in a wooded community but far enough from neighbors for full privacy. It is extremely cozy and comfortable and is stocked with anything you could need during your stay. We especially enjoyed the screened porch with beautiful views. The host was very communicative and responsive to my many questions. The location is convenient to hiking, waterfalls and other outdoor pursuits as well as dining and shopping. We highly recommend this cabin and look forward to staying there in the future. Thank you for opening up your home to us!

Perfect mountain getaway

We’ve stayed at many different Vrbo properties over the years and this is one has to be one of our all time favorites. We loved the location and took advantage of the resort amenities access. This house, as other reviews have commented, is just so homey and comfortable, and has just about everything one would need, including lots of condiments in the kitchen and Keurig pods. We would love to stay here again for sure, when we come back to the area. We found the beds to be very comfy as well which is always something I look for in reviews, so wanted to give that a mention.

Hogback Heaven Cabin

My husband and I along with our 10 year old Sheltie stayed at this cabin Thursday November 14 to Monday November 18. What a wonderful cabin and perfect location. The cabin is well stocked and has everything one would need. The cabin is comfy and very cozy. We enjoyed sitting in the screened porch every afternoon and had a fire in fireplace every evening. The master bedroom bed is very comfortable. We loved our stay and will return.

Wonderful

While we only visited for two nights… It was a lovely stay. The house had exactly all the amenities as described and more cozy and quaint in person. We would love to visit again. Maybe this time in the summer to take advantage of the lake activities . The hiking was very close and made for a wonderful day for my family. And it’s hard to please teenagers these days. This was a great place to escape the heat and humidity of FL! We enjoyed our time and the house had a ton of charm and comfort. The frig and kitchen appliances were all clean and in great shape. My family spent 4 nights at this cabin. It is located in a gorgeous, wooded community. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable, and is stocked with everything you could possibly need. We loved the deck spacing, furniture, wood burning stove, property grounds, and the privacy. The host communicated with many recommendations and there were information binders to answer any questions. We loved it! Highly Recommended. Excellent vacation rental

This cabin was lovely with great furnishings and comfortable beds. The decor both indoors and outside are adorable. The home has an extensive amount of supplies and amenities to utilize during the stay. The views are beautiful here and surrounding area is peacefully calm. The location is ideal with numerous activities to enjoy close by. The pool, gym, dog park and golf course were all great perks that we enjoyed for a small daily pass fee. The owner is very good with communication and our experience was excellent from start to finish. Within a few minutes of the rental is a darling Cashiers mountain community, which is a perfect getaway location to enjoy the cooler weather, nice shopping and wonderful restaurants. This rental is a gem for sure and we hope to return again.

There was an a/c unit in living room but downstairs bedroom door had to be left open to have air access and it barely cooled bedroom off.

We arrived to find the residence immaculate and a very convenient location for side trips and dinning. Everything we needed was available. The only problem we encountered as my being 80+ was negotiating the stairs from the parking area to the front porch. OK for younger folks, but not ideal for older individuals. An improvement might be filling the gravel in with concrete.

Adorable cabin. The cabin was very clean. Host was a pleasure to work with. Little touches, like the light switch covers with a mountain theme and all the dishes with an autumn theme. My grandson counted all the pigs (hogs – for hog court). The beds were comfy. We cooked dinner at the cabin the 3 nights we were there. We spent time at the recreation center every evening/afternoon in the hot tub and pool. Note: you must arrive at the community center to get your passes before 5PM. We arrived after dinner and after a lot of running around we were finally able to use the facilities the first night. Another note: children under 14 are not allowed in the hot tub. We arrived at the cabin on a Saturday and enjoyed the screened in porch. The view and the feel of the backyard was amazing. The cabin is a perfect location for waterfall viewing. On Sunday, we visited Rainbow Falls, White Water falls and Silver Run falls. On Monday, the weather changed abruptly. We drove to more waterfalls: Cullasaja, Quarry, Bridal Veil and Dry. Lunch that day was highlands Smoke House. Awesome good BBQ. It was time to go home. We drove to Toxaway falls and looking glass falls on the way home and drove through Pisgah Forest via 276/151, beautiful drive. It was a winter wonderland. Overall, fantastic trip and we highly recommend the cabin for your mountain trip.

A perfect cozy retreat

This was an absolutely wonderful stay. As soon as we arrived, we were charmed by the cabin and welcomed in to a lovely fragrance of apples. Everything was very clean, and the cabin is exceptionally well equipped. If you forgot something check the drawers or cabinets. I loved how the owners had advised that we could use anything in the cabin. We really enjoyed the use of the fireplace and there was plenty of wood. The cabin is situated on a really pretty property that I bet would be lovely in the summer. They even have a canoe you can use. There are games books and condiments in the fridge and little details that are just so lovely like hot cocoa and marshmallows. Even the dates on the condiments were well within their use by date (I check!) and there were frosted glasses in the fridge. The location is very close to the sapphire valley ski resort which is a great place for families. I would also say that the instructions for check out were really easy and no one rushed us out (that has happened to me at other cabins). I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone - families or couples or friends. Thank you to our generous and thoughtful hosts!

Wonderful Respite

Our experience was wonderful at Hogback Heaven. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and offered all we needed from kitchen supplies to the incredible peace and quiet. We loved it. We had never visited this particular area ( Sapphire Valley Resort) and Gwenn made sure that we were able to obtain Amenity Cards. These are the best deal around! We enjoyed the lakes and exploring the Resort. Lots to do and enjoy and access all around you. This makes this area a wonderful choice for a multi-generational family trip I think. We are all ready planning one of those for Summer 2024! The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Surprisingly so. Maybe a few regular sized drinking glasses would be nice but that is the sum total of any improvements I could suggest. The screen porch was where we lived. Comfortable! AND THE VIEW IS AMAZING!! You have a big awesome view of Hogback Mountain from the porch and the dining space. We were struck by the quiet of the area too. Although there is a next door neighbor, the incredible quiet of the area was a delightful surprise and much enjoyed. Glenn and Glen, thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We will be back! Thank you!

Check in was no problem. House has a very stocked kitchen, pots and pans, spices. Anything needed was there. Lovely flower garden, with 4 separate places to go to and enjoy the outdoors. Very private location in the mountains. We hope to return.
