"From 8,000 miles away, Mr Shawky of Villa Misk foresaw and took care of all of my concerns. He took care of my transportation to and from the airport, train station, and any tours that I wanted. He saw to it that I had delicious home-cooked meals served at inconvenient hours, with plenty of drinking water! He knew that Philae and the controversy of damming the Nile were of great interest to me, and not only shared his personal insight, but arranged for a private boat tour with guide and pilot, who took me out to this phoenix of a temple, and then showed me the lake from dam to dam, to show me more of the unimaginable! My stay was cared for by staff who made me feel at home, and let me relax after an arduous journey, while preparing for the next. Ahmed gave me a room with a panoramic view of the harbor and Philae Temple itself! He gifted me more than just a suite, he gave me memories that will last a lifetime. It took a bus, three planes, and a taxi for me to get to Villa Misk, but once there, I could have just sat by their window admiring the view and it would have been worth it, but only because Ahmed was in the background handling all of my concerns! I thank him, and all of the Villa Misk staff for their efforts. Each and every one of them went out of their way to make my stay a beautiful memory. Thank you for sharing your home with me!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Kato Dool Wellness Resort! The staff were very kind and accommodating — they even allowed us to check out late because our flight was delayed, which we truly appreciated. The view from the top of the mountain is absolutely amazing, especially at sunrise overlooking the Nile river. Since the resort is located uphill, we had to take a tuktuk to go up and down to the village. The ride can be a bit bumpy and dusty, which some people might not enjoy, but it didn’t bother us at all and added a touch of adventure to the experience. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable stay."

"This is a very nice hotel! The staff was incredibly helpful and allowed me to check in quite early. My room had a huge balcony and a great view of the city and the river. Special thanks to Guest Relations Manager Reham, who made transportation arrangements, gave me tips for walking around the city, and treated me like a king. Highly recommended!"

"Kato Waidi Nubian House is magical. The beautiful Nubian artwork in the Nubian Village and through this affordable, modest hotel inspired my creativity. I enjoyed the laid back friendly atmosphere. I felt at home. And the staff was extremely accommodating. One of the special benefits is the affordable airport transport. Kato Waidi Nubian House sits on the River Nile. It was a blessing to journey down the Nile on the boat into town to see the sunrise and feel the song of Ancient people through the whispers of the River Nile. My stay at Kato Waidi Nubian House lives in my heart. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a comfortable environment that is child friendly. Tipping is part of the Egyptian tourist culture and I found myself wanting to share because of the profound humility and generosity of everyone I met. And the Kato Waidi Nubian Village has a vibrant Bazaar with wonderful artwork and souvenirs to remember the journey! "

"If there was a 10 star rating I could select I would. The hotel is beautiful right on the Nile. The Nubian architecture and ambiance is stunning. Karim and is whole team gave my wife and I one the best experiences we’ve ever had. From arranging taxis, boat rides as well as providing us with recommendations for Egyptologists They truly made us feel at home and like family. The chef came and introduced himself our first out of our four night stay. He accommodated our Vegetarian diets superbly. Sunrise and sunsets are to die for and right out the rooms door. Swimming on the Nile couldn’t be easier. Boats and meals were good price and great quality. Wait staff in the restaurant were very good as well. The only thing I can say is that the WiFi does not work in the rooms at the time of this review but it works great everywhere else. Karim went above and beyond to try to remedy this. In the end it seemed like it was the hotel internet provider and not the hotel. Overall great experience. Cozy rooms, beautiful views, great service, authentic Nubian vibes. Highly recommend. P.S. we checked into Ben Ben after our 4 night stay at Aro Kato.. We had a hard time getting settled. We were a little home sick for Aro Kato. The people there just made our trip SO special"
