About this property

1 Bed in Hereford (oc-93441)

  • Set in the idyllic grounds of a smallholding, this meticulously crafted hut – one of two on-site – showcases exquisite attention to detail throughout. You might spot horses and sheep grazing in the surrounding fields, depending on the time of year that you visit. The River Wye flows 2 miles away, where you can rent a canoe to explore one of the river’s most serene stretches, or set out on the Wye Valley Walk, a tranquil trail that straddles the England-Wales border. We'd recommend visiting the historic city of Hereford (10.5 miles) – browse the open-air markets and marvel at the stunning cathedral. Symonds Yat (11.5 miles) is a popular destination for water sports, while the imposing medieval Goodrich Castle (11 miles) is a perfect example of a medieval fortification. Visit Puzzlewood (17.5 miles), an enchanting forest with a history as a filming location, or how about the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye (8.5 miles).

The spectacular countryside views make this fabulous shepherd’s hut special, but the interior is also rather charming – a gorgeous romantic retreat for two. A small set of steps leads up into the accommodation, where you’ll find a door to the shower room on your right, and a compact yet well equipped kitchen and a small table, strategically placed to make the most of the views. At the far end is a cosy double bed.

Outside, you have your gravelled area, with a picnic bench for dining al fresco or simply relaxing and admiring your surroundings. A fire pit with a cooking arm means you can cook up a BBQ or toast marshmallows while stargazing. This space is enclosed, allowing dogs to explore safely. The property has parking for one car.
