Open floor plan with Kitchen & family room open up to beautiful covered porch. Enjoy the view & sounds of the river while relaxing on the porches. Downstairs patio has seating & a Hot Tub. Fish, Hike, & Bike right out your front door! Steps away from wildlife management
Cabin is 2 story with Master Bedroom with King size bed, Full bathroom, huge walk in Pantry, Kitchen, Family Room with Fireplace & Dining area upstairs. Downstairs features Sitting room with wood burning stove, arcade games, Full Bathroom, Two bedrooms with queen size beds, Walk in closet, & Laundry room. Upstairs porch has a beautiful River view, Adirondack chairs & rocking chairs for seating, propane gas Grill. Downstairs porch has Hot Tub, games & plenty of seating. River is across from house with private fenced in area with horseshoes, firepit, hammock & bench seating. Fishing, kayaking & tubing right from there. Pacman & Golf arcade games! Huge driveway with plenty of parking. Cabin is newly renovated & decorated with cute cabin decor. Close to downtown Helen. So much to do here that you won't want to leave!!

The location on the river & private beach is fantastic. We tubed, sat around the fire, and played with our new friend “Happy.” Cabin is adorable! Has everything you might need. Very thoughtfully decorated. Just book it!

We were only at The Big Bear Lodge for a weekend, but in that time it was a very nice cabin with beautiful view of the river and space enoigh for our group of 5 to hangout and enjoy.

Weekend getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. The location is great, close to Helen, but out far enough for quiet and privacy! There is so much to do at the cabin, we didn’t feel like we had to leave at all! Though we did enjoy exploring the area. Communication was great and we had all the information we needed.

Beautiful home with lots to do

This is a beautiful house with lots to do and the owner was very responsive. Family enjoyed fishing right across the street, playing the video games, and relaxing in the hot tub. It is a short distance from downtown Helen so nice to be out of the crowds but have easy access. House was very clean and had everything we needed.

Cozy Cabin

This property is spectacular! Location is great - out of town but not that far. Cabin was cozy and roomy. Great place to come back to after tubing, rafting, zip lining, and all the outdoor activities you can think of. Enjoyed down by the river playing horseshoes and lighting a fire. And the hot tub. We will be back in the future. I highly recommend this cabin.

Perfect Location

Big Bear is close enough to town that it doesn’t feel like an inconvenience to go do things, yet it is far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to questions. The cabin is right on the river so we could enjoy nature at its best. My only regret was not getting to see a bear during our stay.

Cozy Cabin on the River!

We loved everything about our stay here. The house was fantastic with so many amenities. Absolutely loved watching the hummingbirds come up to the top deck to feed, drinking coffee and watching/hearing the river flow, and the games and hot tub downstairs! This place was super cute with all of the themed items of bear country. Owners were great and gave lots of added notes and directions for ease of use of the property. Traffic in Helen was hectic but a quick drive down to Cleveland made our food tour awesome. Clyde’s Tavern, North Georgia BBQ and Hoochee’s River Basket were all delicious choices for meals. Great stay for us and we would love to come back again!!

Big Bear Cabin

The cabin is beautiful and perfectly located. It's only minutes from downtown Helen and seconds from enjoying the Chattahoochee River. It is very clean and comfortable. You have your own private fenced in area on the river with easy access, chairs, picnic table, fire pit, and awesome horseshoe pits! You are also only 1 mile from Cool River Tubing and their fun obstacle course. Oh yeah, the tubing course doesn't come by the cabin, your area is very peaceful! The owners are super nice and very easy to communicate with. We will be returning for a longer stay next time! Enjoy!

Big time at The Big Bear

I have been to Helen many times over the years. I have stayed in different hotels and in nearby towns like Ellijay or Dahlonega. I found it almost overwhelming when trying to locate a property in which to stay for this recent trip. I wanted the cabin feel, waterfront, privacy, safety, cleanliness, fireplace and outdoor hot tub. Not only did this property provide all of the above, I felt as if someone just opened the doors to their home and welcomed us in. We were greeted with lights and heat on (even though it was midnight when we arrived). There was a chilled bottle of champagne and a round of Camembert cheese in the fridge. It was only briefly mentioned in text that we were there to celebrate an anniversary. Thank you from the Brooks’ to the Grow family! I found it unbelievable how well thought out the host was in providing the myriad of amenities. We took walks along the river, made s’mores at the riverside fire pit. Pitched horseshoes and fished. Loved the enclosed and private area for sitting in the hot tub. Only around the corner, figuratively, from downtown Helen. The privacy and seclusion was exactly what I had envisioned. In reality the property is so nice and accommodating that I found myself reluctant to go into town. Looking back, it was all quite extraordinary. PS I am reluctant to say too many positive things because I want it to be available every time I return to the area! A funny… but somewhat true!

Great place with access to the Chattahoochee

This is a great place that is thoughtfully furnished and has perfect location. We were able to cook several great meals in the very well equipped kitchen and enjoy the river each day. The house is secluded but an easy drive to all that the Helen area has to offer. If you are coming to the area we recommend this place for a great trip to the North Georgia Mountains.

The cabin was secluded but also just a short drive to town. The river is so peaceful. The perfect spot for morning coffee! The beds were super comfy with plenty of pillows and blankets avaliable. My kids throughly enjoyed the hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.
