"Overall, I did not enjoy this stay and for those looking for a quiet stay definitely avoid. The room is recent renovated but it’s clear where they have tried to save money."
"We stayed in apartment 12 which was 2 bedrooms & is the central apartment on the top floor. The views were spectacular! The apartment was so spacious with an open plan living, kitchen, dining area with each opening onto the balcony which was equally spacious. The large outdoor dining area was covered & the outer area caught the sun all day with sunloungers on it.
The furnishings were lovely & the beds comfy. The kitchen was extremely well equipped & the washer & dryer were so useful.
The pool area was beautiful & was much bigger than it looked on the photos.
I wouldn't recommend the location for those with young children or anyone elderly or unfit as the hill is a challenge, especially in the heat but for us was so worth it & I could not stop gazing at the view.
I loved Airlie & if I were to ever visit again, I would not stay anywhere but number 12 or 12a Martinique. "
"Room is clean, owner Brain is very nice and helpful. If you drive there , is very beautiful place to stay for a family. At the top of mountain range, 2 kms to the Harbour there is a cafe Bristol at Ferry terminal. Beautiful ocean view from balcony for every room. Recommend "
"Airport shuttle bus was so convenient to assemble and just rides to in fount of the Hotel. The view from the room was fantastic. The staff was friendly."
"Everything was great, amazing view, with a lot of great space. However, underneath the bathroom sink there was black mould. I did email them about it but never heard back"
"This is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The apartment was superb with a very large balcony offering excellent views of Airlie Beach and a hot tub with a view"
"I booked one night at Coral Sea Resort in Airlie Beach as a treat for my final evening, based on the excellent reviews and appealing photos. Unfortunately, the reality did not match expectations at all.
While the common areas and pool are indeed beautiful, the rooms are extremely disappointing. They feel outdated, poorly maintained, and far below what you would expect from a 4-star property. The bathroom looks like it hasn’t been renovated in decades, the room itself is very basic and almost hostel-like, and even basic conveniences are missing — for example, there are no power sockets near the bed. The bed was also uncomfortable and the overall standard of the room felt neglected.
The most unacceptable part, however, was the breakfast. We paid in advance for breakfast included, only to be told that any hot food (eggs, omelettes, etc.) would be charged extra. The buffet consisted mainly of cold items like yogurt, fruit, and some cold cuts — no eggs, no bacon, no hot options included. This is simply not acceptable for a hotel marketed as 4-star. A proper breakfast should at the very least include basic hot items.
Overall, the hotel seems to rely heavily on misleading photos (some of which appear heavily edited or not representative of reality) and renovated common spaces, while the rooms are far below standard.
Very disappointing experience — I would not stay here again."
