I am very sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. My cleaning service usually does a great job. If there are any specific areas' you can direct me to have them focus on I will gladly do that. We try very hard to exceed expectations. Any specific guidance would be really appreciated.

Thank you for your email. I have been traveling a regret the slow response as well as the neighbor who I believe is my tenant using the yard while you were there. It is part of their lease to keep an eye on the property, maintain the yard and be an emergency contact for gust such as you. They try to mow between tenants but sometimes when there is just 6 hours between guest and or rain it proves to be challenging. They are NOT supposed to use the beach or yard when guest are at the house. I will certainly address that with them as well as the cleaning issues you indicated as the cleaning company. We do deep cleaning at the begging and end of each season and then routine cleanings between each guest. Thank you again.

We try to lay exactly what is provided in the rental agreement as far as consumable supplies go. Not sure what happened with the batteries, it sis very odd and we will look into that.

David, I am saddened by your review and regret the difficulties you experienced and distractions from your family time, and our failure to meet your expectations. We take great pride in our property and our family enjoys it, as have many families. We have a professional pest control company treat the property monthly as it is in Southern Virginia on the banks of a river. My assistant stating that the unusual amount of rain we had prior to your visit was offered as an explanation, not an excuse, and this is the first time we have had this issue. While we do not check work email on the weekend, we do have phone calls forwarded for emergencies and we did respond to your call immediately with professional exterminators. If we had known this was an infestation prior to your arrival, we would have notified you. As to the carpet, it was installed two years ago, and was professionally cleaned at the beginning of the season, the beginning of June, and again in July. Yes, some of the furnishings could be replaced (we did replace several pieces last year); however, we chose to hold off since this is a beach house and so many of our guests have several young children, and putting new furnishings in every year or so will drive up the cost, and we want to stay at a price point that families can afford. The price point we are at offers many folks the opportunity to vacation in a clean, safe, family friendly environment with affordable rates for a comfortable family vacation home that sleeps 10 on the water. The furnishings are as represented in the pictures online. As to the detached garage apartments, no we did not disclose you would have neighbors in a separate detached structure behind you. I hope your expectation was not that this is the only house on the river. Most great houses have houses next door. Apparently, sharing a driveway with them was a problem for you, as they report they had no other interaction with you, and they are very quiet, private folks. Over all, I regret we did not meet your expectations, as we have exceeded the expectations of most of our guests for over 10 years. Greg Granger
