A great stay
We came into town to see a show at Charles Town Casino. The location was perfect! We loved the view of the river. The home was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed a great dinner at Mi Dellagado and an excellent breakfast at the Mountain View Diner. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay at this little house! We came from different areas to hang out, relax and catch up in person. Scott and Margie could not have been better hosts! They were so gracious about letting us borrow a crockpot when I realized I had forgotten mine. The best part was an evening by the fire pit down at the river. Magical.

Harpers Ferry pleasant surprise
We chose, with friends we regularly travel, to go to Harpers Ferry. The cottage we stayed in was superbly clean as well as greatly located with a great view of the Potomac. Both the Ferrry & Shepherdstown are close - less than 10 minutes away. Scott & Margie accommodated us when we locked ourselves out accidentally. Great place, great activities, great hosts. Thursday night jam session at OHurley's Gen Store in Shepherdstown was a wonderful hidden gem. Kitchen was well equipped, we would return.

We loved it!
The cottage was well appointed, comfortable, clean, and very quiet. The location was convenient to not only Harpers Ferry but also Shepherdstown and Chester Town. Sitting on the porch watching the Potomac River flow by -- what an amazing view! -- will definitely be one of our favorite memories of this spring vacation.

Perfect Stay
We only stayed one night on our way to our final destination of Gatlinburg, and it was perfect for us. The cottage was very clean, very comfortable and welcoming. The view from the deck overlooking the river was beautiful. It was very quiet and serene. It’s very close to Harper’s Ferry, which is a must-see. Would definitely book again if we come back in o the area, thank your for your hospitality!

Fabulous view!
The property is just as pictured. Fabulous view of the river. Cute neighborhood. Comfortable beds!! We wish we could have stayed longer but were on our way north to see the eclipse. Scott extremely responsive and accommodating when contacted. Hope to have a longer stay in the future.

The best ever!
what a beautiful place and the people are so kind! The place was clean, bright and shiny! The owner was right there for me, I did panic when I couldnt get the door code at first because there was no internet signal, but thats the North in me! So inpatient!!!

Potomac view cottage stay
Loved our time here. Property was VERY clean and well appointed. Information about the property was well organized and we had no issues. That allowed us to settle in quickly and just enjoy our time. The location was perfect for our hiking activities. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Perfect runaway weekend
This charming little house is a perfect runaway from Montgomery County. The house was clean, bright and comfortable. The view of the river was fantastic, and the fireplace cozy. I highly recommend the Riverside cottage.

Immaculate and pretty
Well-furnished and organized pretty home and probably the most immaculate place we've ever stayed. Very handy location - close to Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown with all the fun artsy, touristy, historic things they offer. Good for a winter getaway which is what we did.

Pleasant stay!

Nice view of the Potomac
This was a nice little place for us to celebrate an anniversary weekend away. The gas fireplace was extra nice on a cold, snowy weekend.

Weekend Getaway!
We planned to hit the area wineries but a snowstorm derailed our plans. The Potomac Overlook Cottage was the perfect place to be “stranded” for a Saturday. It was a comfortable and relaxing place to be! Excellent hosts! We hope to go back someday!

Tranquil and so cute
Truly enjoyed our visit. It was exactly the relaxing getaway we hoped for. Very nice place in a great location and the hosts really pay attention to detail. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that, at this time of year, the downstairs stays very chilly. A sheet of plastic over the slider would solve that in a jiffy! Definitely recommended.

Super clean property just needed faster Internet.
Property was incredibly clean, cleanest place I’ve ever walked into ever! The owner other property was very nice and offered to make a fire force by the river. Unfortunately, my children have laptops and like to do gaming and the Internet, because of the rule area of West Virginia, it was, extremely slow like near average of maybe 15 Mb per second. Other than that it was an extremely beautiful view and super clean place!

Real nice place
Was a well kept house, and you can really tell they’ve tried to think of everything to accommodate their guests. The doorways and upstairs shower are a bit smaller than average, so maybe keep that in mind if you are a larger person. But overall, a beautiful place!

This property was in a peaceful and relaxing river side location that was also close to many attractions in the Harper’s oFerry/Shepherdstown/Charlestown area. David and Maggie are absolutely phenomenal hosts. Their attention to details - including a welcome sign and some snacks - made us feel very welcome. The house was comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Not to mention the river nearby where one can go, relax or have a pick-nick. I was travelling with seniors and David made sure to accommodate their special needs. Great flexibility. 5-star all around!

Delightful Riverside Dwelling
Modest, clean, welcoming space (climb to upper level challenge for aging folks) to ease into a beautiful setting for rest and launching onto various outings for nearby hiking trails, including walk across Potomac to Maryland at Harper Ferry. Nearby Shepherdstown, too, provided opportunity for walking, great bookstore, organic grocery, meals, chats with locals.

What a view!
Scott and Margie have provided a home away from home with their cozy cottage. It was more than roomy for the two of us and a small family could stay and be quite comfortable. Scott was very kind and patient with me and my many questions. The location was perfect for our historical sites wandering and the boat launch was great for putting in our kayak. The a/c even stood up to the 95-100 degree temps everyday! The furniture and bed were very comfortable and the cottage was spotless! This cottage was truly a find! Thank you both.

RELAXATION & FUN
3 of us had a lovely time at Briar Patch Riverview Cottage! The cottage was cute and there was no want for anything.... except maybe more time to stay!! We toured the areas usual historical places and found some neat places to catch a quick meal and shop. Our hosts were wonderful. Easy to communicate with, very welcoming (we loved the welcoming sign when we entered) and gave us ideas of a few places to visit. The best was sitting on the porch late afternoon, with a glass of wine and appetizers, watching the river. Beats any restaurant Happy Hour!!! Thank you Scott and Margie....you are awesome and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Dianne, Gail and Elise.

Great Place
This is a great place to stay. It has the best vibe of any place we have stayed thus far. The hosts welcomed us with a cute, personalized sign on the kitchen table. All other communication like signs and instructions were very positive with "please" and "thank you". I've stayed in places where as soon as you book, the owner turns dark and demands that you sweep the floor before you leave. The hosts sounded truly delighted that we were there. I loved the layout of the cottage. The kitchen was downstairs with a full bathroom, washer and dryer, and sitting area. Upstairs was a living room, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Very cool to stay in a place like that and it worked well for us and our extended family. Would stay again and again.

Lovely River Escape
This house was a perfect rental to accommodate my family of four. Quiet location overlooking the river and convenient to Harper's Ferry. We enjoyed our stay in this small river community. Owners were very hospitable and offered many amenities during our stay.

The rabbit hutch at harpers ferry
The rabbit hutch at harpers ferry was our nickname for this adorable and comfortable property with an astounding view of the river. We spent the first night on the porch watching lightning bugs and after our activities Roku was available for our viewing. The downstairs kitchen was well appointed and clean. Everything was easily accessible and easy to find. Upstairs the two bedrooms were very comfortable and the interior design was modern with lovely vignettes in each room. Check in with simple and the owners were responsive to our needs. Loved this place and you will too!

Relaxing WV getaway
Clean and lovely accommodations a skip away from DC metro area. We selected this location to meet with friends we had not seen for a while. We had such a lovely time hiking, zip-lining, and visiting Harper’s Ferry and Sheperdstown. The rental was perfect…clean, comfortable, so accurately described in the listing. Quick weekend away
This was the best spot for our quick weekend to Harpers Ferry. The home is very clean and comfortable. Everything was as we expected from the description and pictures. It was great to be able to walk out the back to go down to the river. The neighborhood is very peaceful. The location is perfect! We could not say enough good things about this wonderful home! We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!!
