Couple - gap year

The hotel is old and in desperate need of redecorating. Our room was very damp with mould on the walls - the cleaners were great but the damp has got in to the walls. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast wasn’t for westerners - no eggs but there was toasts. The price was good and this was the only reason we stayed 😁

Noisy and Not a good location

The room was supposed to have a city view but ended with overlooking a noisy ranks and junks. Room was so noisy I couldn’t sleep all night. Plus location is not as advertised.

Great Hotel Away from Tourist Traps by the Red Riv

Overall I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and treated me like VIP. They called for me taxis upon request and when I asked questions like how not to get scammed by taxi drivers, they had great advice for me. The staff's level of English range from passable to extremely fluent. If you speak slowly and clearly they will understand you and will do everything they can to help you and make your stay comfortable. The good and bad thing about the location of this hotel is that it is located on a small street, so people who are not used to Hanoi traffic may have some trouble getting around on foot at first. To get anywhere from this hotel you have to cross a huge street that is not for the faint of heart. But at the same time, if you have the fortitude to walk own this street, you can see the real lives of the locals. This hotel is an amazing deal. Not sure how long they will keep their prices so low.
