we are older people and found the spa tub quite awkward to get in to,a disaster waitng to hppen.We would not stay there again because of this.

Lovely setting
Lovely setting opposite the golf course. Owners really helpful and friendly. Short drive to town and visit to the lovely springs.

I really loved being here! Will definitely stay here again when i visit NZ next. The spa bath was amazing and chalet very comfortable!

This was a great little complex of holiday homes set within a set of private gardens. Conveniently located for access to town, the unit was well appointed but highly compact.

We received a lovely warm welcome from Bob. The accommodation was superb and very well equipped. The landscaping around the cabins and the views over the golf course add to the tranquility. So good we intend to return early next month. Bob and Rhian have set a very high standard at the Alpine Lodge that all motels should aspire too.

It’s always disappointing to arrive at what should be a luxury room \ sweet and have to wash up before you can have a long deserved glass of wine..... I think the cleaner must not be able to look up as there were eight spiders which I sprayed with the spray that was provided.... they had been there for some time going on the old Webb’s that were all around .... I was told by the owner “ were in the country “ and you can’t keep them out.... “ BULL “. I live in a far more rural property and manage to keep them out ..... The good stuff... it was lovely and quite and the bed was comfortable, nice little touches were to umbrella and torch for the walk to town ( 10 mins ) . Probably wouldn’t stay there again or recommend it .....

Had a very enjoyable trip. Was great to have such a handy location and comfortable big unit. 2 bedrooms, lounge and kitchen was perfect for a family with kid.

A great motel with two great dogs.
The room and facilities were top-notch; warm and comforting with excellent complimentary items as well as controllable heating equipment (heat pump) and a large and luxurious spa bath. The key point for anyone wanting to stay here is the AMAZING dogs that volunteer at reception for check in. What they may lack in opposable thumbs they more than make up for in tons of character and a 12/10 pattability rating. Will definitely be going back to this motel and these two great members of staff.

Quiet but close to everything!
Very private with enough room to enjoy the patio area and our room. Good location with a walking trail to hot springs and restaurants. Good covered parking.

Wonderful, peaceful spot.
We loved it ... Just had our second visit. Would stay there again if we travel to Hanmer Springs again. Only downside: wish the showers were easier to use!

A beautiful setting
We chose the motel as it was a little way out of town but within easy reach. The room was wonderful and equipped to a high standard. Bob was extremely helpful and provided all the local information required.

Exceptional hosts. Lovely place. Quiet, easy to find. Would absolutely recommend to families, our only two issues were the main bed was too soft, I believe past its use by. A new one would be beneficial. The wifi was unusable even though the owner said there was 3 routers. Still couldn’t use it. But everything else was great.

Great family run place. Very welcoming hosts, clean rooms and great location. Lovely seated area at the back of the room to sit out in the evening. Comfortable bed and great 'spa' bath. Tea, coffee, biscuits, milk and orange juice provided free of charge every day. Very well equipped little kitchen. 10/10

Pleasant motel in quiet location.
We stayed in one of the bungalows with some original features which are starting to look a bit old and tired. However I believe that management are in the process of upgrading all of the bungalows. The bungalow overall was very comfortable and we had a perfectly pleasant stay.

Once again, an excellent stay
This was our 3rd stay at Alpine Springs Motel. Like the other two, it was comfortable, quiet, and thoroughly therapeutic. We'll surely return there.

Excellent clean quaint property! The owners are very friendly, accommodating, pleasant to talk with and welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are very homey! We would highly recommend anyone to stay at the lovely motel.

Has all of the WOW factor but the bed left us sore
Best unit we stayed in in 3 weeks travelling in NZ but unfortunately the most uncomfortable bed of the trip, i.e. the hardest, reminding us of China. Sorry, but badly needs mattress toppers for comfort as we found elsewhere, otherwise wonderful rooms with spa. Amenities in the unit unsurpassed elsewhere & could happily stay a week if you could get a good nights sleep on the bed. Possibly the season but the sandflies were very over friendly out on the lovely little porch.

Very comfortable motel in Hanmer
We stayed here for one night in February 2017 and found it very comfortable. Particularly liked the friendly staff, and the facilities (including the little terrace and spa bath). Convenient for Hanmer Springs Spa and town. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for!

Great room, beautiful view, close to everything!
We only had 1 room for 4 people and it was plenty big enough for us. We had the ver front room and the view of the mountains was beautiful. Our friends had a cabin at the back and that was also amazing. Great for a family or goup of friends if you want more privacy. Once we found the path to town it was a nice walk to everything, or very short drive.The owners were super lovely. Definately recommend this place.

A Pretty and Quiet Motel off the Beaten Track
A lovely, pretty and quiet location around 5 to 10 minute walk to the hot springs and the centre of Hanmer Springs. Considering the recent earthquake, all facilities in the motel and town were intact. Our room was very nice with an amazing well stocked Kitchen and the spa bath was fabulous. Toiletries were also provided along with towels for the hot springs. Very friendly owners. Highly recommended.

Top class motel in a delightful garden setting
We had to detour around Kaikoura because of the earthquake so went to Hanmer Springs instead. Our host was welcoming, friendly and a knowledgeable local who, with his nothing-is-too-much-trouble wife, helped make our stay really enjoyable. Bird song filled the air and our cabin was surrounded by beautiful gardens. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer because of a fixed itinerary.

The owners of this place were so helpful during our stay. We were here during the earthquake recently and they were attentive to every need. They also have 3 beautiful golden retrievers that roam around, but don't bother any guests. I would definitely stay here again.
