I am lucky to get a room while every hotel was sold out due to the OMR festival. But this is a seedy area near the train station, my room was a 3rd floor walkup with no lift, and the price for essentially a love hotel was about 3 times what it would normally be thanks to the demand. This may be exactly what you look for, in which case it would rate more stars

Das Hotel hat eine besondere Geschichte. Es WAR einmal ein Bordell und der Charakter ist so geblieben. Am HBF muss man numal mit mehr Lärm und vielen unterschiedlichen Menschengruppen Rechnung tragen.

Hotel ok, but so much noise throughout the night
Decent hotel, locatio near train station was why i booked. However. very noisy through the night with locals shouting and playing music in the street until daylight. Even had a group sharing a ceack pipe in hotel entrance on Friday night. Staff very friendly, just take some very good earplugs

Different
Enjoyable stay overall. Quiet and peaceful. The 5th floor room decor was quite different to most hotels - quirky but also dated. You have to not mind all the stairs each time you come and go to stay here. Breakfast was very fair for the price.

Decent Choice for the Price and expectations
Hotel was Clean, Staff welcoming; Location very handy for Station and City Centre. Overall standards / expectations were pretty much in line with it being an inexpensive choice. Had to ask Reception for a couple of things for the room but let's call that a minor glitch. Room was not as colourful as some of the pictures but then the pictures are no guarantee.

Funky decor in the room, but the furnishings were slightly dilapidated. The room was comfortable but not 100% clean. The ensuite bathroom was entirely made of glass and see-through! There was no lift so we had to walk up 10 flights to our room. The location was excellent, right next to the train station. The room was comfortably warm.

It is a hostel, not a hotel. The neighborhood is far from being safe and I just wish I could get a refund for this horrible experience.

Neat and Tidy Stay
Hotel was just perfect with older interior, but places kept neat and tidy. I actually stayed at a shared bathroom room and found even that neat, tidy and fine. For the price I paid for the room, I was very positively surprised.

Close to the Main Train Station
The hotel was a 5 minute walk away from the main train station which is convenient if you are getting in late on the day, the area around the hotel was not pleasant in my opinion. There was no lift in the hotel to carry your luggage and I was placed at the top floor so I had to walk up 5 set of stairs which is not ideal for a disabled or elderly person. The room was clean but oddly decorated and I had a balcony which was a nice addition.

A quirky hotel (former brothel)
Unfortunately I only had a hostel room which isn't very interesting, but doing a bit of research I saw there are a lot of rooms left with the decor from the hotels kinky past. The rooms are used for photo shoots for fashion and Hamburg lifestyle. Both members of staff that I came across were friendly and forthcoming, The breakfast was outstanding. A true northern German spread. If you ever make it here, pay the extra for a real room and not the hostel/shared bathroom one. The experience will be so much better. Oh, and the location is amazing, too. Just a 5 minute walk from the main train station.

Beware if 3 star hotel
I booked a room in a 3 star hotel however I was not aware that the hotel had 3 star hostel rooms. Moral of the story is “let the buyer be aware”. Read the fine print of the hotel details.

Hello dear anonym Guest, thanks for th review. Unfortunately you didn´t tell anything at the Reception maybe we had could help you. Anyway our Hotel Village is an three Star Hotel with 16 Double- Multibedroom with own bathrooms AND only 3 Hostel Single Rooms with shared bathroom. Before you book an room of course the guest should be read the category of his choosen room. For every Room Category we had add Pictures to help the guest by the booking. Regards, Hotel Village

Visited Hamburg for 3 days in between our Sweden Trip. Loved the personnel service and the large size of room. Upgraded room due to misunderstanding. No elevator / lift was the only disappointment

Easy location from the central station. Easy walking/biking/subway to go around the city. Rooms facing the street. No fan or AC so i left the window open but it's a busy street with people walking around and making some noise.

Convenient to the station but don't stay in #11
The location of this hotel isn't family friendly, although the actual Hotel is well appointed and clean. Note that it isn't accessible by people with low mobility as there is no lift. We had a room that overlooked a restaurant kitchen which resulted in a very noisy sleepless night. The linens were ripped in multiple places. On the positive side the staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good and varied.

Is it really 3 stars hotel? more like a hostel~
The neighborhood of the hotel is not too great, a bit noisy, some trash and some homeless people around the area. There's no elevator so if you have heavy luggage, you will have to carry to 2nd floor for check in and carry to 3-6 floor to your room, the hotel staff may not be able to help you all the time since they may only have 1 or 2 staff. What I had is the single room with shared bathroom, the room is pretty simple setting. The shared bathroom is actually at another floor which the toilet room and shower room are separated, and you have to share with other 3-4 guests. The toilet room is not too clean and shower room is very small, it's not convenient. My friends came and visited, they commented this is more like a hostel.

The room I had was reasonably clean, but the cleaning wasn't complete (no restocking of towels). The shared shower was really really small. The wifi didn't reach my floor. Most hostels I have stayed at were better, except for breakfast. The breakfast here was excellent.

Eclectic hotel, close to the main train station
The room decor was eclectic and bright, but I didn't mind it at all. There was good restaurants in walking distance. The wifi was free but patchy. However, I could generally reconnect quickly. There is no lift and the stairs are steep. As it was close to the Hamburg Hauptbanhof, it was very easy to get to wherever you wanted to go in Hamburg. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was included and standard for Germany. There is no air con in the rooms but the windows open. I had no view from my window, but I don't tend to spend much time in my room when I'm traveling so this wasn't an issue for me. Overall, a pleasant experience. However, due to the stairs, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people with poor mobility.

Fun funky comfortable in a great location
Good modest place, LGBTQ-friendly, fun and eclectic décor (but cluttered). I had a quiet room on the courtyard, which was great as I was just only using the room for sleeping. It's in a funky immigrant neighbourhood with loads of ethnic shops and cheap takeaway restos with a discount supermarket just a few steps away, and it's a five-minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Service was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Wifi a bit spotty but this is true of most hotels. I had a budget room with shared toilet and shower, which was fine (and at a great price), tho the shower room is very cramped. This hotel is an excellent alternative to the boring generic corporate hotels that are taking over the world!

I've given this hotel top marks because of the great customer service, the reception desk staff couldn't be more helpful. The location is next to main station so perfect for transport . We liked the individual boutique decor ... Much more character than a chain hotel .

I liked the fact that his hotel had a bit of history to it. The personal was very helpful and they all spoke English. I don't know about the other rooms, but mine did not have A/C but it did have a strong little fan that kept me cool at night; it would also be nice to have a better mattress. Overall, little personal touches, the eclecticism of the decor, the location and the breakfast were very satisfying.

Aus einem Bordell wurde ein Hotel
Es ist schon etwas schräg, aus einem ehemaligen Bordell ein Hotel zu machen, hat aber einen gewissen Charme. Allerdings mit Abstrichen und nicht für Jeden geeignet. Das Hotel hat 20 Zimmer auf 5. Etagen verteilt und keinen Fahrstuhl. Da wird es schon zu einer sportlichen Herausforderung bis ganz nach oben oder wie bei mir in die 4. Etage. Wer schon Älter oder nicht mehr ganz so fit ist, sollte sich vielleicht lieber eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Ich würde auch davon abraten, Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad zu buchen. Es gibt nämlich nur eine Dusche im gesamten Haus und befindet sich in der 3. Etage. Da ist die Sauberkeit leider nicht zu 100% gewährleistet. Das Zimmer war soweit OK, nur viel zu klein. Die Rezeption befindet sich in der 1. Etage, gleich daneben ist der Frühstücksraum. Das Frühstück war durchschnittlich, es könnte mehr Auswahl an Brot und Brötchen vorhanden sein und mit 14,50 Euro zu teuer. Das Personal war nett und freundlich. Fazit: für eine Nacht völlig in Ordnung, wer länger in Hamburg bleiben möchte, sollte lieber ein anderes Hotel wählen, zumal die Umgebung in St. Georg katastrophal ist.

Danke für die Bewertung.Sie scheinen sich ja gut informiert zu haben über das Hotel.Bei drei Hostelzimmern ist eine Dusche wohl ausreichend, welche sogar je nach Verschmtzung mehrmals gereinigt wird.Im allgemeinen wird das Frühstücksangebot als sehr gut beschrieben. Gehen Sie mal in einem Restaurant frühstücken. Da muss für das Angebot wesentlich mehr bezahlt werden. Es ist leider immer dasselbe. Nichts zahlen wollen, aber alles haben wollen.

Badeværelserne er åbne ud mod værelset. Der er glasdør og åbent så man kan se og høre alt… man skal kende hinanden godt… Morgenmadslokalet er småt men rigtig fint og hyggeligt. Og en rigtig traditionel tysk god morgenmad.
