"Stayed for two nights as a stop over whilst going homeward. Wanted to have a look around the area. Room was small but adequate. Clean with en-suite shower. Ate in the dining area of the pub both nights and enjoyed the food. Informal but friendly service by all, and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Recommend a walk to the canal and then the walk to Gloucester on the tow path. It’s well paved and flat and about three miles."

"This hotel is very comfortable, and in a great location for the Quay area, its about 5 minutes walk to the restaurants and bars. The Cathedral is about 2 minutes in the opposite direction. The hotel is an older building with interesting history, but its very well appointed, clean and the staff are friendly and approachable. A query that I had was soon resolved. There is secure parking under the hotel, which is a great advantage in the centre of a city. It also has a Miller and Carter restaurant."

The bed was big and extremely comfortable, as were the pillows (quite rare in hotels from our experience). We ate in the restaurant on one evening and in the bar area on another and both times were very happy with the quality of food and service. Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of food and drink options. Use of the spa facilities were an added bonus."
