Manistique Sands

"When we arrived, I feared I had been bamboozled by the interwebs and other reviews. The *OUTSIDE* of the property is nothing to write home about. It appears they have new owners possibly, as the name has changed google maps tells me. The inside of the room was immaculate. The outdoor carpeting going up the stairs and along the outdoor hallway leaves much to be desired, but as soon as we stepped in the room, my children gasped as it was not what they had expected, thankfully! The folks running the place seemed friendly, the room was very, very clean and looked new. The bed was comfortable. There was a great view of the water."

"Arriving to the Vrbo was very easy, Craig was very quick to answer questions and restocking wood, toilet paper, and anything else we needed. House was very clean and smelled like nature. Beds were very soft and plenty of blankets for the cold. Internet was nice to have but a little spotty. Water was hard maybe needing more salt in water softener but overall no big issues! Big shout out to Craig for being an amazing host. Was not aware that lake was only 5 feet deep and it was also very smelly, still had a great time on kayaks and the John boat and got some fishing in! Defiantly would stay again!"

"Beautiful lake front cabin. We had a wonderful stay and would definately go back!Some of the things you expect to see with a lake cabin in the UP such as cobwebs, tons of flies (inside and outside), we heard critters in the walls and there were mouse traps in the house. Some large gaps in deck and the outdoor table is in rough shape. Low water pressure but good hot water. Large holes in screen door off porch. The main entrance screen door does stick sometimes. Large living room windows have some mold build up from condensation moisture. Things to know before you go so you can be prepared.. it is kid friendly but there arent any above and beyond little kid things like cups/bowls/utensils, inside/outside toys or sand toys. There are a few puzzles, dvds and a swing hidden in the forrest to the side of the house. There also wasnt much hand soap, toilet paper or firewood supplied, no hair shampoo/conditioner supplied (between 4 adults and 2 kids we ended up having to buy quite a bit of extra stuff to make it through the week stay). No beach towels supplied and you definately need water shoes if you plan to walk/swim since there are many large rocks in this beach. Understand that the upstairs bedroom is a loft, not a closed bedroom. No fans and dim room lights on first floor."
