Wonderful Zen style home with a fully equipped kitchen, sauna, and hot springs bath. We loved the coffee machine! We weren't able to have the breakfast, but we did request and enjoyed the Shabu Shabu dinner. It came with a Sashimi starter and an enormous amount of beef, pork, and vegetables. It also included Matcha ice cream for dessert. We were well taken care of.Note: the location is not easily accessible without a car. The Tozan bus stop isn't that far, but it is on a busy road without a sidewalk. We managed to find some side streets and a short walk through a wooded area to avoid the road.We did not receive any responses from the host to our messages sent via the Vrbo app so we were not 100% sure that they were expecting us. Fortunately they were and we had no trouble checking in once we arrived. This may have been a language issue or the host's unfamiliarity with managing bookings through Vrbo. The location is convenient for many attractions in Hakone such as the Ropeway and Lake Ashi. The Tozan bus (included in the Hakone Free Pass) runs frequently in both directions between Odawara station and Lake Ashi. It gets VERY crowded (even in November) and makes a lot of stops. There is a Lawson Convenience Store within walking distance and we were able to get groceries at the Coop store reachable by bus. Not many restaurants nearby, although there was a food truck selling Tempura near the Lawsons. We definitely would stay here again!
