The 2 bedroom was charming and rustic. It was a very convenient location. You can get to cathedral cove and beaches on foot which made it a pleasure. The local shopping center and restaurants were within minutes also on foot. The area shuts down by 8pm. Make your dining arrangements at Church Bistro ...

Enter the white sand beach through a natural rock archway, the perfect frame for your photos of the rocky islands and clear waters of this marine reserve.
You can take time to visit Stella Evered Memorial Park Reserve during your travels to Hahei. Amble around the area's beaches or visit its cathedral.

Great little town!
Lovely little town. Very white sand beach, quiet, clean, comfortable. If you are thinking to go to hot water beach, here is the best staying.
Beautiful relaxed, no curbs, no traffic lights, few cars. Lovely wee village where we had an amazing breakfast - recommend it to anyone.
A truly unique little haven, the locals are awesomely friendly and helpful. Very special place, hope it stays that way.
Lovely little town with a general dealer for bread and milk and any emergency things you may have forgotten. They also have decent spades for Hot Water Beach at really reasonable prices.
The parking arrangement for Cathedral cove is a scam at $15 (?) for 4 hours. Perhaps a consequence of NZ becoming overrun with tourists. Maybe time to ease back on pushing NZ as a destination until facilities have caught up.
