Staff was great and very helpful. Room was nice. In house restaurant was fantastic. Only problem I had was unfortunately my trip was cut short and they wouldnโt refund any money for the two nights I lost. And itโs there slow season so itโs not like they didnโt have time to rebook the room. More than Half the rooms are vacant.
We stayed for four nights in the Citidenes, it had a comfortable working space, is close to the boat tours, a great gym and yoga studio as well as two pools. They also have free bicycles for you to explore the town. We stayed in an apartment style room so cooked in the fully equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend.
Clearly took a beating from the storm but overall good. -2.5 for not serving any water or drinks untill half finished eating dinner and 3 requests.. Hello... :-\
Breakfast was above average and rest staff was very good so earned 1 back. Certainly 5 potential. Recommend.
Excellent is only the world i can say for this hotel. I give 5 โญ๏ธ for all & definitely will recommend to all my friends if they visit Halong Bay in future.
Everything was fine with my stay. However, I booked for 5 nights but my stay was cut short and I only was able to stay for 3 nights. It is their slow season and the hotel looked to be less than half full. So they were NOT going to lose any revenue from my cancellation as the room would not have been booked anyway. When I asked for any type of compensation as in a refund I was told their policy is to not issue any refunds. Not even a company credit for a future use. So I'm done with this company.
This place was very relaxing. The 2 swimming pools are too small and way too crowded. The breakfast is not good. Overall the place is good.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
It is located in the middle of nowhere in an area in full development but yet inhabited. It might be ok in a few years but not now. Severe problems with the A/C.
The hotel is stunning, spotlessly clean and the pools are really nice. Breakfast buffet was varied and had a massive selection.
Unfortunately the bed was the hardest we have experienced in any hotel and we did not have a good nights sleep.
The shower is bizarre too, itโs in the bath at the same level as the bath tap, and there is no holder or bath curtain meaning you have to hold the shower head and water goes on the floor no matter how careful you are.
The area around the hotel is almost completely abandoned.
We booked 2 nights here for my gfโs 30th and regret the entire experience.
A room with a view (of the bay) = you could just about see the bay but most of the view was of the giant construction site surrounding the hotel. Thereโs no mention of this on hotels.com and the photos shown are CGI = thereโs absolutely zero greenery surrounding the hotel and construction went on from 8am to 10pm at night. See photos for the view from the balcony, it was very noisy!
When we arrived, we immediately wanted to check out after realising the hotel wasnโt as marketed or as expected. Despite spending over 4 hours on the phone to various agents from hotels.com, none of them were able to help and I was told to wait 10+ days for a response, despite only staying for x 2 nights.
On the first night, there was a party happening next door until 2am. Despite several phone calls and trips to reception, they werenโt able to get our neighbours to turn the music down. We ended up having to request a room change just for a quiets night sleep - and zero apologies given for the inconvenience.
Hotel was also like a ghost town, very few people there, probably because of the construction and fake photos that hotels.com shows of it.
Do not stay here, and also do not book through hotels.com either as customer service is terrible !
