Best way for Solo to experience Guatemala City
What a great, welcoming, and affordable place to stay! My first time in Guatemala, Marcos welcomed me in care and attention. My room was clean and comfortable for a hostel place. We immediately bonded and gave me good advice how to move around the city. I met a lot of local people through him, ate delicious burgers, went to a bar and had some of the best local coffee, El Injerto! I enjoyed my stay.

My time at Quetzalroo was excellent! I would note that it is a bit more low-key than some other hostels I have seen; I would recommend contacting them over WhatsApp if you have questions after you book since they took about a day to get back to me by email; however they are extremely responsive on WhatsApp. The owner, Marcos, is a great person and can provide great ideas of what to see in and around Guatemala City, along with Guatemala in general. The location is great with easy access to the airport, ATMs, food etc. The main thing I would note is that the rooms do not have air-conditioning, however that is pretty normal in this part of the world.

The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The place is very unique, and was walking distance to the VAC and Embassy. The owner Marcos help us with travel arrangements. My husband and I will definitely come back to this place and explore this beautiful city!

Very nice treatment from owner and staff! Room and bathroom was very clean and everything smelled fresh. The bed was super comfortable. Very quiet and calm during night.

Everything they offer online was fake. Just putting services on there page but nothing they offer is true i ask the girl and she said that they dont control anything from there and the owner is not coming to let them know people will arrive. It was a white guy sitting all the time in the premises that acting like hes the owner but he is very very rude no maners and that's not good for bussines. If this guys was the owner i will not recommend people to visit there and i want my money back.

Thanks for taking your time to leave a review. this customer was a Guatemalan (hermano lejano) who wanted more commodities but didnt want to pay for them. Rude to all our staff & other customers staying , difficult to satisfy with our service above all. this customer should stay in other type of hotels, but his wife did the reservation.

To hot in the rooms, bed made everyone’s body itch really bad, had to share bathrooms with every one else, dirty bathrooms, no wifi in the 6th floor, dirty rooms.

Great to have parking on site. Sadly we only got to see the manager/owner late in the evening. We were let in by the building concierge who could not find the key to get us into the building. The cleaning lady gave us the key to the room. There was nl check in. The next morning breakfast was supposed to be at 8am. We waited for staff until 8:30. No one showed up even after texting. We had breakfast outside in the end. Lastly in our room we did not have wifi. To connect we needed to go to the lower floor communal space

We only were here for a few hours so we could put our stuff down and shower while we waited 6 or 7 hours for our flight home. The owner was SO NICE. He picked us up from the airport and taught us a lot about the history of Guatemala City. Then when we wanted to go eat some dinner, he drove us to a place he recommended and he grabbed a beer with us. His friend joined and they were both so nice and funny. We didn’t really spend much time in the hostel but it has all of the basic things you would need in a hostel. The host answers promptly on what’s app and is fluent in English. I’m sure the tours he provides would be very good!

Great little spot !
Great little hostel, we had a private room that was off to the side of the main building. It was a whole apartment, kitchen, bedroom, living room, dining room & bathroom. Family that runs the place were very hospitable and welcoming; we would stay here again.

Agradecemos que te tomaras el tiempo para dejar tu reseña. lamentamos que no te tomaras el tiempo para buscar un alojamiento que se adaptara a sus necesidades mejor y que “horrible” sea la descripción de la reseña sobre nuestro hospedaje. nos duele que hermanos lejanos que han migrado en búsqueda de otras oportunidades a estados unidos sean los más severos en sus comentarios pero no les guste pagar más cuando lo que buscan sea únicamente confort, si eso es lo que buscan. y no valoren el servicio y trato humano cálido, cuando llevamos mas de 15 años, dando a viajeros de todas partes del mundo una experiencia sincera, tranquila y confortable en nuestro pequeño espacio. favor tomar en cuenta que para que tengas una grata experiencia en cualquier hostel u hotel, con una familia numerosa y niños con necesidades especiales necesitas buscar mejor los alojamientos que se adapten a sus necesidades.

Aclaramos al lector que esta reservación fue hecha en última hora (last minute) pocas horas antes del la llegada del huésped y la persona que nos deja esta reseña, no es la misma que la que se hospedó.Desconocemos la verdadera intención de esta reseña y si honestamente su fin es Proactivo o si genuinamente desconoce como usar la aplicación de reservas de expedia, en base a sus necesidades, presupuesto y exigencias. A futuro le invitamos a tomarse un breve tiempo para leer las descripciónes de lo que se reservando. Ya que en nuestras descripciónes claramente se puede leer el detalle de las amenidades que se reserva y así evitar momentos incómodos para ambas partes. Nos respaldan trece años de experiencia en servicio al cliente donde hemos creamos un espacio genuino, limpio y seguro para el viajero nacional e internacional.

El personal se encargo de nosotros como que si fueramos su familia ofreciendo soluciones prontas a cualquier consulta y logrando una experiencia espectacular de conocer la ciudad, tienen mucha iniciativa y velan por nuestra seguridad. Una mala experiencia en hostal quetzalroo
No dicen q hay q compartir el baño, Ponen q los lugares están cerca, ejemplo zoológico a 1.5 km mentira Cierran el portón con candado y los clientes en la mañana q andan en carro no saben como salir. No controlan el ruido de los huéspedes en las recámaras

Great place to meet other travelers in Guatemala. Marcos, the owner, is eager to speak about his country. He took us to a great coffee place and we had a nice time in Guatemala city . The place feels safe and the staf helped us booking a Uber to get there (our bus arrived downtown quite late)

Excelente, les llamé desde CR para que nos enviaran un UBER a recogernos al aeropuerto, y me dijeron que con todo gusto, solo q los llamara apenas recogiera maletas, y llegó súper rápido, el hostal está a 20 min, en zona 19 muy segura y tiene restaurantes de comida rápida muy cerca, y otros. La señora administradora muy amable y hasta me cambio dólares x quetzales mejor q en el banco, el chico Mario muy amable, y para suerte nuestra nos pusieron en una habitación privada, todo muy limpio, el desayuno perfecto, hasta mermeladas caseras muy ricas, y los cuartos compartidos, bien ordenados y limpios, volvería otra vez, Cel del UBER, Bairon: +592 41 27 68 41 excelente.
